Help on configuring new self built comp

I built me a new comp and I cant figure out how to adjust the fans to quiet down when not in heavy use. I want to leave it on when I sleep but its too loud and I cant find any way to slow them down/turn some fans off so I can sleep. I connected the fans that came with the case directly into power supply so I dont know if this would be a problem. Would I have to connect it to the mobo? Would I need to find some program to adjust them? I cant find any power save options in Win 7 to control them like I could with my laptop.

Yeah, the connectors on the motherboard have three pins (I think some have four, even.) allowing it to regulate the charge supplied. The ones connected to the PSU only use two lines.

I connected them to the motherboard but how do I control it after that?
