I find it funny because I was the person in my group that would always fall asleep to whenever we watch anime. I would fall asleep so often that I got the nickname "Osaka" from Azumanga Daioh.
It's no secret that Odin is the worst anime ever made, but when I told you guys that both the dub and the subbed version was shown at Connecticon last year, after one of your panels. However, you seemed to pay it no mind. Because you guys are head of panels, do you guys have any control over the video showing rooms to prevent monstrous, idiotic, and horrible mistakes like that?
DNA2 is one of my favorite anime, it's just great. I think I love it so much because it is not only the first (and only) harem show I ever saw, but also the first show I ever finished...period.
I actually fell asleep watching The Ghost In the Shell. Having seen it on just about every "essential anime" list, I definitely will re-watch one day. We tried to wrap up a movie marathon by watching it. This experience did help my friends and I spawn a theory, though. The human body and mind can only handle watching three movies without taking a break. Regardless of the quality of the 4th film, you will reject it, and potentially fall asleep.
OK just finished listening to this podcast. On the topic of the laptop bag that will not fit the new laptop, have you considered going to a tailor, but instead of getting a whole new bag, having that tailor just modify your existing bag? It's not exactly my field of expertise but perhaps you could have them open up a seam or two and throw a 2-inch strip of material in there to expand the bag.

It's a Timbuk2 bag. I really don't imagine how that can happen.
Please Save My Earth has a fairly long manga series (at 21 volumes) that Viz has released all of in the US. I've been meaning to read it but haven't gotten around it to it yet.
Dragon Half's manga has been completely scanlated. Which looks like it has a pretty good rating so hopefully it remains cute and funny and does not get creepy and icky.
The 20th volume of Bastard!! being out in the US is all lies. It's not available from amazon even though they have it listed. Viz has gotten this title on a slower and slower release schedule, it was like every six months. Now it seems more like whenever they feel like it. Also Bastard!! isn't Bastard!! without all the bizarre porn-ish stuff in it. It only gets worse in the manga too and D.S. spend a lot of time naked. (This manga does also draw his own hentai dojin for his work, take that for what you will). The art though get really good in the more recent volumes though.
I have a lot of memories from when in I was in high school (late 90's) Philly has a local channel that showed the most awesome crazy crap like Shaw brothers movies, Godzilla movies, stuff like Death Race 2000, and had an anime block. I've watched or caught part of so many anime from this station back in the day. Like Twilight of the Cockroaches (some bizarre live-action/anime hybrid), Vampire Hunter D, and some movie which I've never figured out what it was where there are a bunch of girls fighting on a bridge with a giant sword. I was very sadden the day I turned on the channel and it had become a a 24 hour catholic network. Really now that I think of it, this station was really ahead of it's time in content. But this how I have most of my anime I know I've seen but don't remember all that well memories.

Ohhhh I misunderstood. I thought the original bag was a total custom job, in which case it would probably be easier to modify. I as well would not want to approach someone about disassembling a a Timbuk2 bag.
I think as long as there are girls into anime between 12-15 there's a demographic for Marmalade Boy. It has to be somewhat still known since it was on Anime on Demand for a long while.
Hey Rym if you want some Candy Candy here are somelinks working on their subs. Their translations are pretty decent from what I remember it in spanish. It is a really good show, and this makes me sad
They end the story of Saber Marionette J that way so they can make sequels series such as Saber Marionette J again and Saber Marionette J to X series. I have seen J again and it was an okay fallow up and only seen parts Saber Marionette J to X. Nuku Nuku is a cool series and most of the other thing I can try to remember. Do not remember much of DNA2 expect the cop going on about her sweet, sweet, home and the mega playboy it has been years. Dragon half was the bomb.
I'm behind on my episode watching, so this is a somewhat late comment but:
Yes, I remember Gokudo. I remember it fondly in fact. A high school friend of mine picked up the boxset for a good price years ago at a dealer's room, after we'd seen some in one of the video rooms and liked it. I still have the sixth and final disc of said boxset, borrowed from her and never returned since I'd moved away for college and then so had she. I should probably send her an email or look her up on facebook or something.
It was definitely funny as heck at times; when it wasn't not subverting traditional fantasy tropes and being Slayers-esque there's a sort of Fractured Fairytales feel to the whole thing. About 52 episodes in total, and a dub that was good for the time and still holds up okay. One plotline riffs on Momotaro, another on Journey to the West, etc. I was especially fond of the finale: that damn old fortune-teller/witch lady from the first plotline shows up yet one more time for a big reveal (of course), and then there is a giant robot fight for some kind of reason.
I'm partly in charge of panels and other programming at my local convention. I made sure we had VCRs back in 09, specifically to show my tape of Odin.
I also have Lensman, and after the books it was hard to get into the anime 'adaptation'. Some of the same character names, but different plot points.
Just promise me you will never make such a decision like this ever again, because I think you've poisoned enough people (however many or little showed up) already.
While I would not say anything so silly as it's not THAT bad. Odin for me is something so horrific as it needs to be seen by everyone, at the very least everyone who is 15 and has that whole "Anime can do no wrong" belief that you find everywhere. We need to see how far the rabbit hole goes.

Also, the solution to the VSync issue is triple buffering. Sadly, I guess they didn't implement it...
