My favourite was always the second movie, but that was only because Lugia was my favourite Pokemon at the time and Weird Al did a song for the soundtrack.
Yeah, you guys reminded me how much this movie sucked. But that thing about Team Rocket hanging around with no one noticing them happens in a lot of the movies, it's a running joke.
The best Pokemon movie is Mewtwo Strikes Back, but I wouldn't call it "good". As in, being a cool thing to watch on its own merit and not on nostalgia. You're not going to find anything like Pokemon Adventures in the anime.
The Hokuto no Ken analogy was made of epic win. I'm very happy I watched that anime (yeah, the anime, not the movie) recently. I recently watched Princess Bride for the first time as well, too! Such great timing for me.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that Rym could get in pretty bad trouble for e-mailing Goatse around to 3/4 of the Finance tech people in the US- Distribution of Non-Title 18 U.S.C. Section 2257 Pornography is, most likely, in breach of the law.
I hope you die in a fire after your shins are broken with a 2x4. Then I will have sex on your grave with your girlfriend/wife/whatever love interest you have.
I herby found the Asshole Brigade, and only Nineless is invited for now.
Spell of the Unown. When it came out I was still so much into the pokemon cartoon that I went to see it on the opening night, longest line I've ever been in.
You are correct, sir - I thought I had this episode. Derp.
Addendum.
I herby found the Asshole Brigade, and only Nineless is invited for now.
My boy, before you do that, You have a lot to learn. For example, that my girlfriend would kick your tattered-windsock resembling rectum up and down the street all day, without even breaking a sweat, depriving the city of winnepeg of another worn out rent-boy, and crippling the city's economy by removing you from the trade. And if you so much as look at me in a way I don't like, I will personally ensure you spend the rest of your ever shortening miserable life lapping rat bile from an Ebola-infested twatrag, you scum-sucking cuntsleeve of a twice inbred haemorrhaging shit-ape.
Ahem. If you're going to try, at least put some effort into it. 1/10 for sheer force, 1/10 for creativity and originality. Your weak attempt does not impress me, and I discourage you from trying again without some serious learning and practice.
Wait, so if I become a panelist for this year's Otakon, would I also be able to skip the line on Thursday?
Nope. Otakon abolished all privilege for panelists years ago.
We used to get an "Associate" badge, which skipped the reg line and got us into the convention center early for panels. They stopped doing that, but started given panelist ribbons instead, and let panelists skip to a special reg booth. Now, they treat panelists just like normal attendees. We skipped the line each year solely due to shenanigans: we weren't supposed to.
My friend and I have been watching these movies for lols for a while now. We're up to, uh, 12, I think. Here is the pokemon movie run-down imo:
The First Movie (Mewtwo VS Mew) Probably the best one. Or one of the best ones. Sadly.
The Movie 2000 (Lugia VS Legendary Birds Moltres/Zapdos/Articuno) Pretty bad but a lot of peoples' favourite? Mostlikely because it has the birds.
3: The Movie (Creepy Entei VS the World) You just watched this! It is one of the worst ones, yes.
Pokemon 4ever (Celebi is a little bitch) I fucking hate this movie. Celebi is the most annoying thing on the planet. I think THIS is the worst of all the pokemon movies. BUT the first ten to fifteen minutes showing oldschool pokeball technology is really really awesome. I wish they would develop more background things like that. But that would actually be interesting.
Heroes (Latias and Latios) I barely remember this one so that says something. I only remember terrible terrible 3D sequences.
Jirachi Wishmaker Ummm this was okayish I guess compared to the others. By the end you don't really care what happens but the circus setting is neat. I don't remember any characters being REALLY bad.
Destiny Deoxys The tech city is actually pretty cool. The characters are all boring.
Lucario and the Mystery of Mew There is a point about 3/4 of the way through the movie that still makes me laugh. I just. Hilarious. Especially if you're not familiar with Generation 3 pokemon. The rest of the movie is trying to be angsty but they're not that good at it.
Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea (manaphy) This one has a pirate in it so that might interest Scott. Um, I seem to recall some surprisingly competent characters that don't get to do much. One of the better ones, I guess? May (Gen 3 Misty replacement) is super annoying - surprise!
The Rise of Darkrai This one rivals the first movie for best movie, I think. Actually, no, it's just under because some stuff just doesn't make sense. But this is one of the better ones and kicks off the Generation 4 (Diamond and Pearl) TRIO of movies so if you do watch this maybe also watch the next two.
Giratina and the Sky Warrior I won't lie, this movie is incredibly boring (or we're too tired of the Pokemon movie formula. That's very possible). However, adorable Shaymin being a huge douchebag sort of makes up for it. Mostly you watch this movie to have background for the NEXT movie.
Arceus and the Jewel of Life Finishes the trilogy. I haven't seen it yet but people tell me that the first time you watch it you should watch the Japanese version (with subs). The English dub of Arceus' voice is apparently bad enough to make the movie a LOT worse.
That's about all I remember about them.
All the movies are pretty formulaic - you'll start to recognise the formula quickly enough. FYI part of the formula is "Start the movie with a totally sweet pokemon battle with a competent trainer to get the viewers' hopes up and then dash those hopes".
Everything is funnier if you invent your own plot. You guys aren't the first to conclude that Mr. Mime, Professor Oak, Professor Hale and Ash's Mum have something going on. This is a very common conclusion, in fact. I'll be interested to see if you come to any of the same conclusions that we did for other movies too! Redubbing the pikachu shorts on the fly is also very very worthwhile. We now know that Totodile is a ruthless psychopath, for example.
On the subject of the Entei x Ash's Mom situation; Pokemon: Controversy was one of my favorite pages on Wikipedia. They moved it to bulbapedia and, I think, shortened it.
Rym, you should use Quick Balls and then if they fail (which they rarely do unless it's against a strong Pokemon or a Legendary) use Dusk Balls.
Heh... I should have said "used." I actually stopped playing Pokemon entirely after I beat Pearl. Short of a Pokemon MMO, I doubt I'll ever play it again.

Yeah, there's nothing in that article about any sexual affairs.
@ Churba, yeah, that was a weak attempt, I was half asleep at the time. Geeknights invariable sends me into a drowse. I'm going to get my back piece photo'ed by the artist for her portfolio, but later I may have enough enthusiasm to do some forum assholeing. I'm much better at it in person with my voice, but the staredown is where most of my power is.
Man, it was way further in than I remembered. I suffered through 10 minutes of Celebi for you guys. 8C I totally forgot this movie has THE worst bad guy character design.
Here you go: Watch from about 8:30. It's really short and right at the end there, unfortunately. The pokeball the kid is using would be from 50 years or more in the past of the pokemon world, I guess. Judging from certain character ages.
More stuff like that would be really cool. They never really develop it though.

Yeah, I totally remembered it being longer and better but that's all I found (and I'm not watching more, fff) so I think nostalgia got the better of me! I still think MORE like it would be a good direction for the show or a movie though.
Maybe in 20 years or so after Pokemon has died down enough that Hollywood attempts a movie revival. Hah.

I like the first one with Mew Two better.

Also, badass lady in the land of the Charizards sounds pretty cool.

This episode was random and hilarious.

Also, the little girl annoyed the fuck out of me when I watched this again. I wanted to slap her.
