You want to talk about shitty news? How about the fact that it's suddenly the top headline that the vaccines cause autism study was a fraud. We've known that for years. I should start a newspaper that only reports things we've known since five years ago since apparently it doesn't need to be new to be news.

Yep, but it was only retracted in early 2010, along with Wakefield being struck from the register in May 2010. It's not years old, it's this year - Still old, but don't make it out to be something it isn't. Reporting it as a fraud would be troublesome, since it was still a Peer Reviewed paper published in the Lancet, until it's retraction.
And I'll wager that the story is about how the paper was retracted and Wakefield struck off, rather than just about how the paper is a fraud.
EDIT - Reading over the CNN article, it specifically mentions when the paper was retracted, and when Wakefield was struck off. They're reporting on it now, because they have him on with Anderson Cooper.
You're not gonna find me complaining about this story. Frankly, I'm just happy it's making the headlines that this anti-vaccination stuff is bullshit. Sure, sooner's better than later, but I'll take what I can get.

Oh, I'm happy to see it there, but I've known this for many years. Why couldn't they report it many years ago? Why is it big news now, but it wasn't big news then?

Because years ago, the paper wasn't retracted, nor was Wakefield struck from the UK medical register, and of course, he wasn't having an interview with Anderson Cooper years ago. Reading and thinking - They're fundamental!

For the same reason some news broadcasts recently reported that nutmeg can make kids high. People are dumb and ignorant, including those who report it.
I lost faith in humanity after reading through the comments on various news reports of the Wakefield incident.
Autism is caused/made worse by babies sleeping on their backs. It does not allow for proper sleep (for one it increases sleep apnea from 10% to around 70%, which has links to autism) which hampers and disrupts brain development. Don't take my word for it, research it. It makes such a drastic effect on child development that doctors have pushed back their estimated times for babies to hit developmental milestones.
This is well timed propaganda to push the vaccines and discredit anyone who questions their safety. There's a good chance another avian flu/swine flu scare will pop up in the near future. For all the people who don't think these vaccine are dangerous.....step in line. I honestly don't understand how more people can't see through all the deception and lies.
