ridiculous comments that goad you into addressing them.
So promoting discussion is a bad thing?
No, unless that is the first or only way you ever interact with someone. Kaptain K has never had a conversation with me on the forum, and all I ever see him do is annoy people elsewhere.
Maybe we can't tell if you are trolling, or if you are just being continually annoying.
I insult people all the time, but not when they are being self-deprecating. In my original post I said how juggling isn't cool, and then you had to call me out on juggling not being cool. Or, by misquoting me, by showing me as obsessive or something. Again, I'm not even sure what you were attempting with that "annoying" "joke".
I admit I only responded because by then I'd found the old photos of those juggling acts, and wanted to share them. But venting is cathartic, so I added that in.

I'm okay with not everybody being a fan, the only thing I take issue with is implying I troll, because that has connotations suggesting I'm not posting sincerely and choosing what I say merely "for the lulz", which is diametrically opposed to my most basic principles.

I did no such thing, I merely was making a joke about how you like to turn every topic towards juggling and thereby yourself, implying you're egotistical; but it was a joke. Maybe you're taking yourself a wee bit seriously or maybe you really are that egotistical.

Right. Is everything you post also a joke? Because all of that is completely lacking in humor too, just like the post above.
And now I'm really not sure if your most recent post is a joke or not. You think I turn everything to juggling? I don't see it myself, but I guess, being a professional juggler means I bring the topic up way more than anyone else here. Meanwhile, I check a few random threads and there is one character who stands out far above anyone else in terms of single-identity-marker- HEY GUYS! I'M GOING TO BRING UP THE SAME ASPECT OF MY LIFE OVER AND OVER JUST SO YOU KNOW RIGHT HEY HEY BUTT SEX YEAH!

Jokes never make sense once you analyze them seriously. Partially because you're looking at it with a serious mindset and partially because jokes are meant to be enjoyed in the moment when you first "get it".
I will also tone down my gayness so it'll make you more comfortable, Luke. I'm sorry.

As a professional comedian, I've got to disagree. Good jokes make sense once you analyze them seriously. Bad jokes don't, which is why they are either not funny, or confusing to those reading them as to weather they are even jokes, or not.

If you think my last comment was anything to do with homosexuality or me being uncomfortable with open gayness, read it again. Hint: think kettles and pots.
Again, I'm struggling to work out if you are trying to be funny and failing, trolling, or are just so clueless as to genuine human interaction that you don't know how much of a dick you are being. If I was being kind, I'd go with the first option, but your attempt at a joke is pitched to be as passively unkind and insulting as possible, and has failed to be even slightly funny, so I'm going to have to pick one of the other options. Trolling? If I am to take you at your word, you say you don't post things purely to annoy people. I guess that leaves the third option.
If you need help on how to interact with other people, there are places and resources that can help you. Meanwhile I'll give you one piece of advice: stop trying to make jokes which can so easily be misunderstood as nasty insults.

Nice video, VichusSmith! I wonder what you could do with an act like this, a projector and the Kinect. I bet with enough work and computing power you could get a shadow opponent that responds actively to your movements.
Sick juggling routine, Luke. How long did it take you to nail down?
Shall we simply make a post "Is Kaptain K a troll?" in the flamewars category, and move all related discussion there? Then all of you who care can yell and scream, and Kaptain K can defend himself as he pleases, and the rest of us who don't give a fuck can go on reading the forums without interruption?
On what feels like an note, the shadow sword fighting video was really cool, and I would gladly watch more stuff in that style.
Also, I enjoy seeing Luke talk about juggling for the same reason that I enjoy reading the Science Based Medicine Blog, or watching TED talks -- I really like seeing experts talking about their area expertise.

OK, Kaptain, so Luke supposedly turns the conversation on himself, and then you incite him into an argument (whether your intention was to do that or not) which turns the attention on you, and for a lot longer than the attention would have been turned on Luke, because, honestly, the juggling comment didn't do much to sway my attention. I think if maybe you're a little more obsessed with Luke, then his comment may have tickled your antennae.
I'd also like to say that all comedians don't have something to prove, but they are attention whores. Comedians would happily agree with me on that.
