    Kind of bizarre statement considering Captain Tim was ostensibly stating that it sounded poppy. And I agree with him that there is a distinct difference between poppy and not poppy in the way a song sounds. After all, pop music is a defined music genre. There is a sliding scale of how poppy something sounds though. This may vary from song to song even by a single artist and on the same album.

    Take Americana by The Offspring for example. Songs like "Why don't you get a Job" and "She' got Issues" are very poppy. Songs like "Walla Walla" and "The Kids aren't alright" are not.

    There are bands who have completely built their foundation on the pop influence. Bands like Good Charlotte, Blink-182, Sum 41 and Simple Plan come to mind. The Street Dogs on the other hand are definitely not in that category. There is simply nothing poppy about their music, and I don't hear anything in "Punk Rock and Roll" that would make it poppy. Nor did I find anything that sounds poppy on their album.

    Reread my post. I never called the Street Dogs poppy. I just made a general point.

    The Runaways are often touted as the first Riot Grrl band. I would def say The Runaways are punk. And could you have picked a more cliche DK song?
    My fav DK song


    And Chaos, The Street Dogs are most def Pop Punk. There is nothing wrong with that. But they are pop punk.

    For "Redbull Helicopter does backflips", the Song is "Devil in me" by the 22-20s

    Not only is this woman just goddamn gorgeous, she's a pretty good doppelganger of Sova's sister(Florence and the Machine - Kiss with a Fist)

    Playing bass = SRS BSNS FACE TIME (Philidelphia Grand Jury - Going to the Casino)

    Fun Fact - when the Nightrider is on the radio in the first Mad Max movie, this is the song he's quoting (AC/DC - Rocker)

    The correct answer to the chorus is "NO WAY, GET FUCKED, FUCK OFF!" - Also, The Angels were also known in the US as Angel City. (The Angels - Am I ever gonna see your face again?)

    These guys are some of the massive greats of Aussie Rock - the Skyhooks. However, The lead singer - Shirley Strachan - went on to become a handyman on a home improvement show, and then a corpse, the Guitarist - Red Symons - went on to become a judge of Australia's longest running variety show, and also, curiously, is one of Australia's smartest celebrities, holding a Bachelors of Science degrees in Pure Mathematics and Computer Science.     I saw these guys live in Hull, in 2008 I think, Stoned out of my fucking mind. IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE. (Status Quo - Caroline)

    Curiously, that gangly, bald-headed cunt up front, Peter Garrett, is now our Environmental minister. His role is to take the exact opposite path than you'd expect considering his previous very public stances. (Midnight oil - King of the mountain)

    And to finish off this episode of "Churba's encyclopedic knowlege of rock", I present to you three embeds of The Wrights, With the Rock Opera "Evie". It's an Eleven minute three parter, and it's amazing. Rocking, joyous, sad, and finally, part three, the catchiest piece about familial destruction and a woman dying in childbirth that you'll ever hear.

    The album versions for those are better, but the second two are bloody hard to find on youtube as the album versions rather than the live versions.

    Too much clicking, hardly - More the fact of fifty six independent youtube embeds in a straight line down the page, that's a bit excessive considering the size of it. It'd be sorta like going to your local record shop for a recommendation, and they point you to a massive vertical stack of LPs in random order.

    (Side note - I still actually have an LP collection, sitting in about three or four milk crates. And a Tape collection. However, this was not cool, when I was younger, and propably still isn't now - I recall the look of disappointment on 16-year-old-me's girlfriend's face, when I gave her a framed first press of Michael Jackson's BAD album. Why did I give it to her? Eh, I had two.)
