Cosmonauts: Russian Space Program

edited March 2011 in Science
I love stories and information about space flight, both current and historical. The moon landing is one of my favorite non-fiction things to read about.
One thing that always gets me emotionally, though, is the sheer drama inherent in the Russians' cold war space missions. They were so much more hackish and under so much bureaucratic pressure from the communist party that there are loads of stories replete with tragedy and heroism.
There's a brave man who would lay down his life for his friend.or the Crazy Re-entry of the Soyuz 5, which was the reason why cosmonauts were given pistols to shoot wolves.
And of course there's the sorrowful story of Laika, which you can read about in a graphic novel.

Anybody got any good stories about Cosmonauts and the Russian space program? I have a craving I need filled.
