Biking and bike related fun times!

edited June 2011 in Everything Else
So I went on my first bike ride since my surgery last summer. Oh my god it felt good. I did about 8 miles. But now I am a tired tired panda!

So I hear tell that some people use their phones to track them while using their bikes. I have an Iphone. Any suggestions?

  • This summer a load of us from Berlin are planning to cycle to the European Juggling Convention. That's in Munich, about 800 km away. One idea is to do it in 10 days, taking it easy, as one friend is recovering from a knee injury, and someone else might have a toddler on board.

    Further ideas:

We'll be posting the route online.
Other people can track our progress live via GPS and phone updating.
Other jugglers and cyclists can join us along the route, and hopefully be the time we reach the convention will have us a convoy!
  • Any suggestions?
Get a handlebar mount for it or make one. This way you can use it as a speedometer and map. I do the same thing with my android phone.

I think he* meant for a tracking app. I'm curious if anyone with an iPhone has found a decent tracking app for when they go walking/biking

Google My Tracks is the best one there is. Android only, though.
  • Dang. Ill have to look through the Itunes store I guess. I don't so much need a map for finding my way purposes. I know my town, but I would like the tracking app for mileage and to overlay it on a map just for funsies.
