The client is interesting. It took a minute to figure out how to invite people to the game. You have to make sure to select extra seats for others to play.
On my 2nd to last turn I played Tactician to where my next hand had 2 Laboratories, 2 Villages, 1 Bridge, 1 Goon, and 1 Bank. I had 3 buys and 26 monies to spend. OP.
I think they gave me the wrong login info because I still can't get in with the info they gave me. Also, people should know they are under NDA not to release screens or really talk about it until it's released.
I'm not sure about your decision of which card to buy with the Potion here - Scheme doesn't really help you with making those early purchases. Silver seems like a better choice to me, though I wonder if Courtyard could be a decent choice also.
Nonetheless, I do agree that the Familiar situation definitely has a big luck element involved.

EDIT: Potion / Oracle might be the best bet.
The scheme was necessary. If I could have gotten the familiar I could have scheme/familiar to get the curses out faster, which you'll notice is exactly what the other guy did.

Yes, it's nice to have the Scheme, but there's no point in getting it when you don't have any other action card yet.
I think Potion/Oracle is significantly stronger; you can always buy the Scheme in Turn 3/4.

cheese-less is right. oracle or silver would be the right play, to avoid drawing dead potion... however, i had a game yesterday very similar where i just couldn't get my familiar up. http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120709-113242-70cbf5ce.html I essentially gave up once he bought the duchies out from under me. Also, the early estate buy was entirely by accident.
You know what's awesome? Using tribute when people have lots of double type cards. Oh, you tributed two harems? Why thank you!
two harems wouldn't be as useful as one harem, one great hall, since you don't get benefit from duplicates. but yeah.. those are the best games for tribute.

Oh, I did not know that. I thought you get tributed for both cards even if they are identical.
pretty much immediately after that posted, someone did it to me. it was ... not fun. but I expected as much, considering that immediately after a strategy post, there's a flood of people trying it on isotropic.
This is a case where the game log is not very convenient, since it doesn't tell you what got passed around due to Masquerade, or what you drew and discarded due to Margrave. What card did you give away?
In any case, though this is annoying, at least it doesn't force you to trash Provinces, since you're always going to discard them anyway. I played a game earlier where I trashed a Province by accident, though it still ended in a draw, fortunately for me. I almost resigned, too.
Also dumb opponents who take too long on their turns. I wish the game would record median turn lengths for players and display them prominently. Then you could easily filter "play only fast opponents."

this would be a great feature. i frequently lose to slow players, because i stop paying attention and read my rss while i wait.
