Should the philosophy of "innocent until proven guilty" apply to social consequences? At what level of certainty should someone accused of a crime be ostracized, lose work, etc.?
It's a legal construct, not a social one. It doesn't, and shouldn't, protect you from people making their own conclusions and exercising judgement and social pressure (within existing legal behaviors ofc).
