Life After Demonoid

Okay, Okay - you don't have to tell me I'm not hip or that I'm not cool. I know these things already. What I don't know is what is a good alternative to Demonoid now that it's gone. Specifically, I always like Demonoid's slection of books and comics. Can anyone help?

Oh yeah - of course I tried searching for myself on Google and stuff, but I want to see what people I trust have to say.

    Why do all my favorite torrent sites get shut down?! First I used Suprnova, then Demonoid for several years once I got an invite. Now... now I have nothing!

    Demonoid has been gone before. I bet on it coming back. Though no other site has their collection of comics/books, which is what I used it for.

    I got a Demonoid account early on and I think I used it exactly once.

    Demonoid was better than PB for certain things, like iPod/iPad converted TV shows, or comics. I found some of their searches more convenient for myself.

    Last I heard they may be down just by that country, but doesn't mean they won't be back. However, the domain names are up for sale now.

    Domain name sales are not good omens of site viability. Also, the rumours are that the Ukraine is kinda offering Demonoid to the U.S. as a gift.

    Demonoid was good, clean, and trustworthy. You just can't seem to get good comics from sites like Kick Ass Torrents or other sites. Pirate Bay just isn't the same.

    It's kinda like my nice public library branch has closed, and now I have to travel fifteen miles out of my way to the branch in District 11 where they don't have a good selection, the librarians are mean and surly, and I feel like I might be shot by rednecks who have mistaken me for a "revenue-er".

    Yes. Just as I said, Demonoid's comic selection was the best. Also, I told myself the same thing about the liklihood that they'd soon return. However, with the recent news about the Ukrainian officials finding the physical address of the servers and physically turning them off, domain sales, and the owners of the site possibly facing criminal charges and hiding out in Mexico, I don't know if we'll ever see it again.

    Demonoid was quite good for the obscure stuff.

    Around 2 years ago when they had their last shut-down scare, though, I joined the ImmortalSeed community. They only do TV but they do TV torrents better than any site I've ever seen.

    I got into What.cd and Bibliotik recently. Good ebook/comic book/audiobook selection on both.

    TPB seems to work alright for comics. Most other things I'll get from more specialized trackers.

    I gravely hope you gentlepersons are not engaged in this ruffianism.

    (I would like an invite to Bibliotik; I don't care about What.CD for the reason Sail mentioned, and the fact that /mu/ Mediafires anything worth having from there in 320kbps V0.)

    Edit: Also, if you guys want to join What.CD, the invite interview is super-easy. I'll post the tutorial graphic later tonight.

    I'm a power user on What and would gee glad to invite anyone, but I've never received the invites I'm supposedly entitled to every month and PMing mods has always only ever been unhelpful and usually comes with some kind of written condescending abuse.

    I don't have any invites on Bibliotik. You can get them from the What.CD forums though.

    See, I haven't needed torrent sites in a long time. Maybe it's just because my needs are well-cared-for by 4chan, but pretty much everything I can find as a DDL from a reasonably secure looking website.

    Nah, I go to the Big List of Porn for my porno needs. 4chan covers DnD, books, and music, mostly.
