I think Biomes o' Plenty seriously screws with beehive spawning. There ARE hives, but they're few and far between. MUCH less common than without BoP.
Turning mobgriefing to false unfortunately doesn't protect clocks. There's a flag for paintings that may also work for clocks but I haven't tried it.
If the sparse hive spawning seems to be problematic as we all get settled, I'll set up vendors in the central station with all the 1st tier types.
I'm of the opinion that Unleashed really wasn't ready for a release yet. There are too many glitches (although, in their defense, BOP is disabled by default.)
I did try an SSP game with the delivered configuration for a few days and still encountered a number of problems. Still quite playable, though, I think.

Going to need 35 diamonds to make the galidonian wood cutter.
The number of items used just as crafting components for other items in only one or two mods is too damn high.
