Over half a million people are going to rally in Washington D.C. on October 26 against the NSA's surveillance programs. If you're able to join, please do.
I wish we could just get everyone to encrypt everything and put even more (unimportant) data out there. Fill up those petabytes with shit they can't or won't use.
I would note, that to this day I still see people wearing Rally to restore sanity stickers everywhere and generally use it to find cool people. Also, Unlike the hater Rym, I got to the rally early brought homemade signs and had a lot of FUN.
And got mentioned in NPR :-p
It also probably helped some American's hold out hope that they were not going to get rolled by Teabaggers
REMINDER: Only 2% of bills introduced will be enacted. The vast majority die in committee -- even if not especially the ones that are politically profitable.
Still not much. Those companies might attract a brand name politician (no offense, but the two who proposed it are kind of nobodies) and then we could see some traction, but as is I'm still not expecting much.

but nawwww
Zero effect. Entirely forgotten.
This will be no different. Rallies mean nothing unless they overwhelm, resort to violence, or otherwise can't be ignored.
