It seems as though Google, Amazon, and a few others are paying Ad Block Plus to whitelist their stuff.

They've had the "allow acceptable ads" checkbox for quite a while. I switched to uBlock because I don't condone those sort of shenanigans, and I don't have any complaints.

Sometimes I switch to adblock edge because of that, but I usually come back because I like having the option to block certain elements which ABE doesn't seem to have. While its annoying in principal, it's not that hard to make sure "allow acceptable ads" is unchecked.

I didn't even notice this as I switched over to Chrome early and there was Adblock (not written by the same guy as Adblock Plus). Then eventually Adblock Plus arrived and both running in tandem has blocked everything for me.

Haha it works incredibly well, I'm getting some crazy numbers though, I got 800 ads / trackers etc. blocked on one site!
