Xenu on Boston Legal

Haha turn it on right now, James Spader is completely mocking Xenu and Scientology as part of a trial. Boston Legal (on ABC) is probably in my top 3 favorite shows.

    Wow...I don't know if I can watch that. I have a disturbingly large attraction to James Spader, and hearing him rant about Scientology might be a bit too much for me.

    Shatner is awesome but does not affect* me in the same way, except that one time...but that's another story.

    *Never got the hang of that effect/affect thing sorry Mr Period.

    When in doubt, use "affect" as a verb and "effect" as a noun. You cannot go wrong this way.


    Noun usage:

    Affect - archaic and rarely used
    Effect - ramification, consequence, result

    Verb Usage:

    Affect - to produce effects upon, to alter, to change
    Effect - to put forth, to bring about

    Examples:

    My actions affected your mother.
    I effected change upon your mother.


    There are other proper uses, but you should probably ignore them unless you are a writer.

    Here is the Boston Legal clip on Xenu. Trust me, take the time to watch. It had me rolling. This is definitely one of the three best shows on TV, right along with Scrubs and The Office.
