Definitely an anime series that everyone should check out. I have a friend that's crazy into the new Dragonball series and I'm trying to get him to check this one out.

They did the Madoka/Gundam Seed trick where they skip the opener/closer and play the theme over show action! Maximum drama.

I can't remember the last anime that didn't do this trick. Gotta get all the time you can in the final episode for maximum epicness.

Hm. Those are the examples I remember where it felt like a punch in the gut when they executed it. Episode 10. Nuff said.

I don't even remember Kill La Kill doing it, but I'd believe Don't Lose Your Way snuck in there.

Accordingly to my, admittedly shitty, memory even the old shows did this. Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Macross, FotNS, Space Battleship Yamato, etc.

Fushigi Yugi did it every episode with the closer. The closer music would start playing during the show.

For the Op: Esca did it only a few times.
