- For a "world" event the vendor area is really small - HOLY SHIT THOSE DISCOUNTS! - Free play area has an awesome system of game check out using bar codes on badges - Game signups are done via poster, it is an interesting way to go about doing this - If you are into War gaming or Rail gaming (1830 and 18XX) this is a must go - The average age is 40, it is weird feeling young at a con environment - If the FRC were to go down we would need to go as a team and compete in the team tourney - I would like it if there is a panel/area for upcoming game designers to congregate and meet with industry people, they are there but often got the "you just missed X who was here"
Thinking of going to Allentown Comic Con tomorrow.
Board gaming is traditionally populated by older geeks. I'm used to being the youngest person at Unity Games by ~10 years (excluding the friends I bring with me).
In segments. There is no other way. I was fortunate enough to have judges who let me pre shuffle in between rounds, have others shuffling the deck whilst I played it, so on. At the pro level, I'm sure he just hauls ass since you probably don't get concessions at those venues.
Knowing that there was a small crowd in Times Square watching NASA during the landing, and chanting "Science! Science! Science!" makes me almost as happy as the landing itself. BoingBoing.

I think a small crowd is all we're ever gonna see again. I'm not optimistic for the future anymore after the last 12 years in this country.
The creator of the great new webcomic Nimona did make something on her tumblr page which I didn't know about until now. The Broship of the Ring If the Lord of the Rings was a bunch of hipster hobbits on a road trip. Love it!
So back to the whole thing about making friends based on random interaction with strangers, let me tell you what happened on the train this morning. I was going to work and the guy next to me had headphones on. His music was loud enough to hear, but not annoying loud. I was like wait a second, that's Electric Shock by the Kpop band f(x)! And I turned to him and I was like "Hey, you are listening to Electric Shock. I like that song! We ended up talking about anime and videogames, and it was very nice. He actually had heard of my studio on the internet! Now we are Facebook friends.
Over the last few days I have been compiling all of the remixes of the Taco Bell Dorito Taco Review into a single comprehensive playlist in chronological order. Enjoy.
Keith Burgun is the terrible moron behind 100 Rogues, and now he wants to pay an "experienced and dedicated" programmer $200/week to code his "unique and innovative" game within a couple of months. This dude is just too hilarious. His 180-page paperback on game design theory is $40, too.
I know that Homestuck ain't exactly popular round these parts but I personally think this is rather cool; all the panels from the very start to the beginning of A6A3 strung together and set to music. It's really neat watching it knowing the story; it's like one of those sped-up videos of a plant growing or something.
And hopy shit yeah there are an awful lot of panels jesus christ how did i manage to read all this.

Then you do win, and it's awesome.
I'm ecstatic.
A friend of mine made an excellent Twinrova cover.
