Are you fucking kidding? They'd be all over this like white on rice! Can you imagine if they could sell you booze without the nasty problems like addiction(and no, don't be stupid, addiction isn't their revenue model), AND they can sell you a pill that sobers you up fast? They'd make money hand over fist! They're already hiring extra interns to stuff bags full of money, just so they can throw bags of money at this guy just a little bit faster in hopes it'll be licensed to them first.

Nah, the industry is always looking at stuff to try and sell more booze. They don't fear change or innovation nearly as much as other industries.

I can see that. They're not trying to fight a losing battle like the music industry is. They'd come out looking really good from a PR stand point AND they could still sell normal booze, so that's a double win.

Bingo. There's always been and always will be a market for regular grog even if this synthetic alcohol becomes the standard, because of the same business model that gives us 200 dollar bottles of whiskey - It's not always about the alcohol, it's about the process and the materiel, among other things.
