The style kind of reminds me of the old Heavy Metal animated film. I wouldn't mind watching a feature length film of this but I can't help but feel a more orchestral or electronic score would have worked better. Than the 80's metal tune.
I... find this all interesting. The novel was fun. It could be cool. I am very surprised at this... but if this is happening... it could be quite a big deal compared to what I thought was going to happen to the "movie" contract.
Uh that's great and all but the art style isn't all that original. The author of the article should probably have balanced out her discussion with Skullgirls, a game which was designed with the same thoughts on the Zine. Skullgirls is also played more than Soul Caliber and Dead or Alive. Dead or Alive is unapologetic in it's hypersexual design with no thought towards game play. Hence why no one plays it. It's pretty much soft core interactive hentai.
Also missed the elephant in the room which is the Street Fighter series, the one game that everyone plays and draws artistic and gameplay ideas from.
I guess the main point is that there is no male equivalent of Dead or Alive and no requirement for something like a male version Skullgirls to be made.
^MatPat is become a bit too much like Buzzfeed for my tastes these days. I miss the episodes figuring out "How Much Would a Set of Diamond Armor Cost?" or "Could you survive a leap from Assassin's Creed?" Now it's all "Is Mario Crazy? Is Mario a Communist? Is Peach Dead?"
Yeah. He used to connect games back to the real world. My favorite of his is that analysis of Donkey Kong Country as a metaphor for the Philippines War. Nowadays the analysis only ties into itself.
MatPat is best when his show focuses on facts. When he tries to assert stupid fan theories, it feels like he's really grasping at straws for content.
This video isn't that bad, but I find it ridiculous that he uses a FNaF thumbnail, even though the content of the video itself has nothing to do with said game. He's become very clickbaity as of late.
At least Gaijin Goombah is still worth watching on that channel.

Not really a star wars fan, but this animation though...
First, a genuinely good prank from a NZ radio show today.
Second, Stone Cold Steve Austin having a sweary rant about how his support of gay marriage.
