Pretty obvious we aren't going to win it at this point. Thought about buying tix for tonight just so I could check off two items on my bucket list.
1) See the cup hoisted in person. 2) Boo the commissioner.
Obviously I didn't pay, so that will have to wait for at least one more year. My only hope is that the series ends at MSG, so I can at least hear the boos rain down on Bettman. Kings didn't do a good job of that at all when they won it recently.
I don't know if this applies to Kings fans, but it certain applies to Carolina Hurricanes fans... Apparently, down there, they refer to the sport as "ice hockey." As a former co-worker of mine, who happens to be Canadian, once said, "if you refer to the sport as 'ice hockey' instead of just 'hockey,' you really don't deserve to have an NHL franchise."
Hey, if it works for Scott, it works for me. ;-). Besides. I'm a Ducks fan and will totally admit that I'm guilty as charged. I just have to in some way counter the east coast bias in this forum.

Did you ever think that maybe there isn't an East Coast bias? The East Coast gets more attention because it's actually superior. Everyone is getting the amount that they deserve.
Rule 85 is a huge deal. Some of those things happen rarely (breaking the glass), but others happen all the time. A shot deflecting off the net and going out of play happens pretty much every game. The offense being able to face off in the zone after that kind of occurrence is definitely going to increase scoring opportunities.

I have considered that possibility, measured it, and it has been found wanting.
