  • I think maybe that map just measures wealth.
    No way is Mongolia or Tibet(?) that rich. Or Germany that poor.
    And I want to know what metrics they are using to measure "happiness".

  • Right, but what questions do you ask? "How happy are you?" What meaningful data could you get on "happiness"?
  • I think that's probably about it. Maybe rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 or something. Happiness is so subjective that I don't think you CAN rate it on anything but how happy a person says they are.
  • Even if you were going around asking people if they are happy, how many could you ask? Everyone? What if everyone they asked in Russia was having a crappy day?
  • People! Learn to read! They don't use any metric. It's a map of subjective well-being.
