So, I just realized that this movie was completely financed by Marvel comics, I wonder if this movie was good because it did not had a lot of pressure from Paramount which is only its distributor.
As far as favorite parts of the movie I have a few that stand out to me, I'll try to do this without spoiling anything or going into too much detail. Those who have seen the movie should know what parts I'm talking about:
"I was just stuck in a cave for three months and there are only two things that I want..."
"OK, lets try it at 10% and see if this will get me off the ground"
"You spray me again when I'm not on fire and I'll donate you to the local city high-school"
The landing that was mentioned above, and...
The final press conference where he's just like "fuck it... I am iron man"
SPOILERS: (As I mentioned above, the scene with Nick Fury set up at least five other movies. They have been confirmed that they are in production and they are/ will be released on: Iron Man 2/ April 30, 2010 Thor/ June 4, 2010 First Avenger: Captain America (working title)/ May 6, 2011 The Avengers/ July 2011 Ant-Man/ (in production, no release date set))
I am sorry to all the ant-man lovers out there but ant-man does not deserve a movie. Specially the ultimate ant-man. Since it looks like most of the recent movies are more closely related to the ultimate universe.

Not to be confused with Atom Ant, who clearly deserves his own movie.

I don't know, I think a movie about a superhero who is abusive to his also superhero wife could be very interesting.

Up and atom, Atom Ant! That would be awesome (unless they did what they did to Underdog.)

I would only be down with that movie if Captain America is in it, and if he kicks Ant-Man's ass at the end.

Not an Ant-Man fan, but I gotta see that just for Edgar Wright... I hope and assume this movie will be more fun in nature, and not so much wife beating.

That's not hard. Batman Begins was pretty mediocre. 1989 Batman is still a zillion times better than all the other superhero movies.
I have to completely disagree with you. I hated Tim Burtons films and thought they were too "comic booky." I think the newest Batman movies portray a much darker tone and remove some of the campy-ness from the story.
I've argued this with Andrew a zillion times. Tim Burton's Batman from 1989 destroys other comic book movies. You get Bruce Wayne's backstory without all the tedious origin development because he's already Batman at the start. Jack Nicholson is THE Joker (Mark Hammill comes a close second). It doesn't rely on cheesy CG, so you believe Batman could exist in our universe. Gotham is dark and gritty and very real. And three little words: Billy. Dee. Williams.

I loved the Iron Man movie. It's the best comic book movie I've seen, ever. In my opinion, it's better than Batman Begins.
Thrusters at 10 percent.
