I'm making a whole album full of that kind of music.
As in recording it, or just compiling existing music?

  • This ignorant non-gamer (referring to myself) discovered just yesterday that fragging != frakking + shagging. Hence the questioning of Rick Astley.
  • Depends on the game, but I generally listen to something that gets me into a "zone." Right now, I mostly use Cypress Hill, Immortal Technique, Big L, DZK and anything related to the Wu-Tang Clan.
  • If anyone is looking for some music that would really work for some killins, I highly recommend some of the songs off the album Angelica (it is operatic singers with heavy metal guitarists).

As in recording it. I got the idea from one of my friends when he said that he would do his girlfriend to my song "Mellow Groove".

    Who's the artist?
  • Who's the artist?
There are many including Steve Vai, David Foster, Dweezil Zappa, Nathan East, The Boys Choir Of Harlem, Eric Johnson, Steve Stevens, etc.
  • The only full song that I've listened to while in an FPS was " Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers". Some guy started to play it while in game. When I was done being amused, he was quickly muted. I like to pay attention and hear my team mates...most of the time.

Can you send me a RS of it?
  • When COD4 Multilayer started to Get boring, I listened to Podcast, Especially my backlog of GeekNights. Dave and Joel Where too dangerous because sometimes I'd start Laughing' and get totally Boned.
  • Tom Jones. :P

    Feel free to sing along.

    "That Rocket Gun"
    By Victor "Ensanity" Khaze

Its not unusual to be fragged by anyone
Its not unusual to hear "LAG!" from anyone
But when I see you runnin at me with that rocket gun
its not unusual...to hear me cry
    You made me die.

Its not unusual to blow up at anytime.
'Cause whats the first gun n00bs pick up? oh, its such a crime.
And if you happen to be caught by that rocket gun
It's not unusual, it happens everyday
    No matter what they say.
Those n00bs, they'll get you all the tiiiiiiiime.

You're guns will never do the damage they should do
Why can't those n00bs just go awaaaaaay?

It's just impossible to find a single one
a decent FPS without that rocket gun
Call it spinfuser or anything you want
'Cause now its usual to find that I am Sniping you
    whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

When I play older games, where my comp can handle having itunes running at the same time, the music tends to be one of these bands:

    GWAR

    The Misfits

    DEVO

    Metallica

  • I'll question that one. I really don't mind Rick. I have that as my Ringtone! :D

Though I have to ask, why restrict yourself to such a small playlist?
You have rickroll as ur ringtone?!!
  • What about Another World by Nobuo Uematsu from FFX

Edit. It's not like everyone has already seen the 1 minute earlier post that you need to bump the thread again to make it known that you said even more.

I have seen a roque correction of posts here and there, mostly members fix posts these days, but yes, Mr. Period is very quiet.

Maybe we can start calling him Mr. Ellipsis. :)

  • You know, Mr. Period isn't the only post corrector around...
  • Songs to listen to while playing games with air combat:
    Bomber by Motörhead
    High Speed Dirt by Megadeth
    Aces High by Iron Maiden

Anyways, if it counts, I'm currently programming for a good bit now in one session and keep myself from killing myself with Megadeth, Optimus Rhyme, Social Distortion, Guadalajara (an austrian Ska band), The Offspring and The Turbo A.C.'s.

Pah, every post correction gets attributed to Mr. Period. It's a selfless task to keep people from raging due to a horribly written post.
  • Provided the in game music is a) repetitive or b) not good, I tend to go with heavy classical such as Uematsu, E.S. Posthumous, or Rachmaninov especially if its an FPS or similarly fast paced game. Podcasts and more directly engaging things I find to be better for strategy games that are much slower.
  • For any excessively violent / gore filled battle, Tiny Tim is pretty great. Most of the time I either listen to nothing or my entire music library on shuffle.
