I tried watching old episodes. I was really excited to watch them, but it was like comparing the reinvented BSG with old BSG. The writing, the acting, the tone, the episodic and formulaic aspects of the old make it far less appealing to me, personally.

Yes! Tom Baker is God. Or close to it. The hair, the scarf, the teeth...the cheesy shows. It was great.
I do like the new Dr Who but it doesn't come close to the old shows.
