Never buy a drink for someone with expectations. Hopes, sure, but never expectations.
And that's why. They had as much - well, more so than people who hadn't, you know, come over and talked to me - chance as any other person there.
It's not the buying of the drink that's in question here. It's the acceptance of the drink.
Like I said, they have as much chance as anyone else. They buy me a drink, and we get to chattin', and I don't like them, gender irrelevant, I'll thank them for the drink, and bug out. I like them, I buy them a drink, and we keep on keepin' on.
I visited RIT again yesterday and today and stayed overnight in the Dorms. All in all, I had a good time, and am even more under the belief that I want to go to RIT. I just hate being poor.
I came out to a family friend recently. She's going to keep it quiet (and I trust her to do this). She took it very well and told me that it wasn't my mother I should worry about, but my father. Apparently, she told my mom about her gay friends, and my mother is not as crazy on this subject as I thought. It's nice that I was able to say who I was out loud for once.
I still can't tell mom, though, because she will tell my father. She tells him everything.

Congratulations on that step. I hope it all goes well (and that this friend keeps it quiet), and I hope that you'll be able to be fully out before too long.

It was very brave of you to do something like that, and you should be thankful that you came out to someone you can trust who won't reveal this to your parents. I would suggest that you only tell people you definitely trust about your sexual orientation, and when the time comes make sure they are present when you finally tell your parents as I'm sure they'll back you up.
Today I met up with an awesome friend that I have not seen in a long time, went to see a free production of Julius Cesar with two awesome friends and a new awesome friend, I had an incredibly delicious Carolina BBQ sandwich, then stopped by the house of an awesome Italian family to eat some awesome Italian food, talk to the awesome Italian grandmas, and hang out with the family's awesome friends. In so many words, today was the most awesome day I've had in a very long time.
Well, I was hanging out at caffe med as I usually do...
A few bums had to be escorted out, one crazy guy pretending to be Jesus had to be busted by the cops. Same old, same old. Then, a girl I've seen there once in a while comes in, reads for a while, then starts playing the piano. Beautiful. Eventually it's just her and me at closing time, and we start talking. Long story short, we're having dinner Wednesday!
First date I'll have had in months. Today was a good day.

Wow...that sounds like something that would happen in a dream or a movie or something. Nonetheless, good luck man and I hope everything goes well for you.
I finished my driver's ed at 3 am (online courses fuck yeah), and will be taking the test tomorrow for my provisional license. I'll be able to drive after six hours of real driving training, so expect another booh yah in a week! I like small ponies.
Hmmmmm. I had to look up what Gaia was. What kind of rare shit do you have that you're giving away (I assume you mean some sort of Gaia-based currency)? Did you give some of it for this art piece?
Limited edition items released in 2003, mostly. The contest has certain items (avatar equipable) and "gold" as prizes. I haven't given out the prizes yet...the artists that have submitted works in progress (the deadline for those was the 8th) have until the 22nd to finish and submit their pieces. Then I judge the pieces and distribute prizes accordingly. I am sure this one will win a prize, but there is no cost to me for the art aside from pixels with perceived value.
I'm quitting Gaia and giving away all my rare shit.
I'd call that enough of a praiseworthy accomplishment. The sooner all of the awesome people converge off of the fail-heap that is Gaia, the better.
You think something that allows me to get that art with no monetary outlay is fail?
Honestly, Gaia has gone to shit, but I met a lot of people who are now pretty good friends on that site years ago. There's not much I'm interested in there anymore, but the art community was pretty much the sole reason I developed my artistic abilities at all.
I was the same with Gaia. I got into it (and then deviantart) for the art scene, and at first it was really helpful in developing my skills. Try as I might have, loltsundere never really warmed up to it much, and that's probably partially because she had to listen to me bitch and moan about various things ranging from my opinions on the art, to my complaints about the trolls and brats that became more and more frequent as time went by. It's her opinion and she can have it-- we don't agree on it. We too met a good friend on Gaia, though.
It's just...gaia's ship has sailed, and it's nice that people are getting off and swimming ashore. The only people I like left on there are my sisters, I think.
It's really cool that you're cashing in like that. That piece is really nice. =D
Maybe after I develop my story a little more I'll do the same with all my oldoldold items. I wonder what they could get me now if I had an art contest...
Yes, that's why I'm quitting. However, I do think that the site has its merits. They are much less now than they were when I first joined, and the bullcrap outweighs the benefit by far.
You mean like how, from what I've been lead to believe, it's basically 4chan without the few small redeeming factors 4chan has?
HA! I'd take 4chan over Gaia anyday. There's no comparison.
Gaia once had good roleplaying... But then that died. That's when I stopped caring. I don't see the 4chan comparison at all, though. A bunch of nerds hotlinking shock pictures is not a bunch of people in the chatterbox starting slave threads so they can cyber. Both are depressing, but different.
That stereotype of 4chan is so far from the truth it's laughable.
No, it's really not. /b/ generates 50% or better of 4chan's traffic, so it's totally fair to characterize it thusly. Yes, there are boards that have their uses (I frequent /mu/ to learn about new bands), but the largest percentage of traffic is made up of retarded bullshit.

I've never been to 4Chan, but I know people who have. They have confirmed that a large percent are that stereotype. So, yeah.

You two might want to reread the stereotype Axel named.
hotlinking shock pictures
We'll ignore, by attributing it to ignorance, the word 'hotlinking' since he probably meant uploading of said images. While /b/ does indeed generate the majority of traffic compared to all other boards, it doesn't only deal with 'shock pictures'. Those are pretty rare these days from what I gather, instead /b/'s just filled with camwhores, newfags with their newfag memes and the spammers, and of course, tried and true lol generating memes.
Also, anyone worth his salt knows, without going to /b/, that the stereotype of 4chan is 'hackers on steroids that blow up yellow vans/internet hate machine'.
Really,
hotlinking shock pictures
is so far from the truth it's laughable.
But what else to expect from Axel? He's right on the nerds though, but it's a massive quantity, instead of just a bunch.
