It feels so strange walking amongst other humans. I've been holed up in this apartment for a week now, so I decided to go outside and watch District 9. I was walking around the theater which was quite crowded, and I was just wondering, "how many are here that are like me?". It will take some time getting used.
This mentality verges on self-indulgent. Why do you want everyone to be like you? You say that you feel alienated, but then want others to conform to your idea of a norm. Enjoy the diversity and revel in the commonalities that you can find (which are plentiful). Even in the feeling of alienation you can find a commonality, since most people experience this feeling at some point in their lives (and some feel it constantly). Mix it up a bit and you will see that 1) you are not all that different and 2) that others differences can be entertaining, enlightening, and endearing. Much like the other thread, I urge that you search for a happy medium and some rationality.

Wow, way to miss way he meant completely. By the statement "how many are here that are like me", I'm pretty sure he meant those who have been holed up in their apartments and were just now going outside into society after a long period of being a hermit.

If that is the case, then I retract my statement. In context with the post that initiated the thread, it seemed like a continuation of his "I am a freak and can't be myself or identify with anyone" issues. Joe, please clarify your statement for me.

It's definitely the case that you misunderstood me. I was just wondering if anyone else in the crowd thinks the way I do.

Interesting. I took it yet a third way: "How many here have the particular issue I alluded to in the first post, which I haven't revealed, but which puts me at a 'large potential for hostility'". So, just to pick one, "How many of these people are furries like me?"

Yup, we both posted the same thing at nearly the same time.

You should just tell us what it is and see if we still talk to you ^_^
I highly doubt that anyone would stop talking to me. Just look at this thread: that's a pretty big testament to how awesome and accepting all of you are. Really, this was more about dealing with myself personally so I could better understand the way I act, my beliefs, my thoughts, my emotions, and so on. Anyway, you already guessed it right at the beginning.

Wait, I am confused. You are into Harry Potter porn?
For the record, my affinity for harry potter porn is merely for rather raunchy humour. There's nothing better than hearing how "Ron got ass blasted off his feet into another fucking dimension", although to think of it, it's also something I wouldn't want to share with anyone casually.

Also for the record, I didn't know this in advance, I was just taking the piss.
