I really like my new living room layout. I have my desk that I can game at (or do work, I suppose), but I can also pull the chair away and sit on the couch (to play games with a controller, or just watch stuff). It allows for interacting with a large screen without that screen becoming the focal point of the room.

(It'll be better when I have a coffee table and some bookshelves )

That was pretty much my apartment set up in my Melbourne apartment but I had 30" monitor on a stand rather than on a VESA mount.
