I watched Rocky again last night, and it reminded me that I want movies about internal struggle, not external struggle. There is precious little boxing in Rocky, and that's perfect. You always forget that last sequence detailing the fight with Apollo is only about 15 minutes.
Agreed so hard on more Edgar Wright films. As an addendum, more Edgar Wright + Simon Pegg + Nick Frost films. I want my third Blood and Ice Cream movie, damn it.
More psychological horror films would be great as well, films where what you don't see is scarier than what you do. Hollywood does not grock this concept very often, but when it does, it's great.
Also, more films with practical special effects. Camera tricks, specialized sets/rigs, hydraulics, puppetry, guys in suits - whatever, just do it in-camera.

Luckly for all of us, the 90's are over and Francis Ford Coppala does not need to whore himself out to studios to make a buck. His last two films that he made during the 2000s (Youth without Youth and Tetro) were awesome.
