midnight snack ritual

  • I was up all night because getting back to a normal sleep schedule is a bitch. So, around 5:30am, I got up, made myself a breakfast of bacon, fried eggs, and english muffins, with a big glass of freshly-squeezed OJ. Then, I ate it, said good morning to my family members who were just waking up, and went to my bed and slept for seven hours.

    It was pretty awesome.
  • I've never, in my life, woken up to eat and then return to sleep overnight.
Me neither. I usually don't eat 2 hours before I go to bed. I occasionally grab food if I am up very late or out late with friends, but I just don't "snack" that much in general other than at parties.

Avocado and cream cheese on toast. It's past midnight, so I might make something like that now.

    WIth lemon juice I hope!

    And tons of black pepper.
  • Best avocado snack? Halve an avocado with a chef's knife, take out the pit, and fill each divot where the pit once was with a tablespoon of balsamic vinaigrette. Eat with a spoon.

    So good.
  • Pepper yes. Not tried it with lemon juice yet.

Pretty much the same, yeah, lemon juice, salt and pepper. SO nice. Food of the gods.
  • Tea. I drink tea whenever I can't think of whatelse to do but I want to consume something.

Tea is so fantastic. It's caffine when you want to stay awake and warm fuzzy inside feelings when you want to be asleep. There is nothing it can't do.
  • Depends on what I have at the time. Things that I tend to like before going to bed: cereal, applesauce + cinnamon, cottage cheese + blueberries.
  • I usually have a Vernors that's been put in the freezer for a couple hours to get slushy, and a chocolate chip granola bar and/or some crackers.
