Pretty sure pax is also adding the gender neutral bathrooms, as other conventions have done.

They have, two at this point for east. I don't know where they are, though.

Yeah, Khoo mentioned that on twitter.
  • Against all impossible odds, I shall be going to PAX as I have booked a hotel that is not too far. Can you add me to the GroupMe? I am at geoffino04@gmail.com.
  • So, guess who got 3rd place in the Pitch a Game Idea panel?
  • The City of Boston forced the weird bathroom thing on them against their will. Khoo wasn't happy.

They also wouldn't let the con have more gender neutral bathrooms. They limited how many PAX could have without room for debate.

Boston is the problem, not PAX.
  • Attendees who would like to file written complaints regarding the bathrooms can email info@massconvention.com.

  • I am so waiting for East to move and break their contract.
  • PAX needs to revisit the nipple policy. Either let everyone go topless or tell everyone to put a shirt on.

Handheld Lounge is a fucking fire code violation.
  • After today, I'm only missing four CAH cards! (11, 14, 18, 21.)
  • Omg I forgot about the PAX CAH cards. If anyone is able to collect an extra set, I'll pay for shipping
  • I got a complete set by passing the public card swaps but there are def a chunk of very rare ones. Won't be able to get you a complete set most likely but I'm more than happy to send you the commons. Also, they did their panel thing and took 10 crowd suggestions, sent them to the printer at 11PM, and are delivering them only to the people who came to that panel tomorrow. So yeah not getting those 10.
  • If you need specific cards, there is a trading table set up in TT today.
  • Has anyone acquired any extra LoL codes?
  • I am not at PAX East though, that is why I was hoping someone could acquire me a set (or most of one) and send them to me, and I will pay shipping cost, if desired.
  • So what was Omegathon this year?
  • So what was Omegathon this year?

    Cornhole
  • If anyone has some of the extra digital swag (specifically LoL codes), I'll take them.
  • Saw and met so many people. Played so many things. Did so many things. Oh man PAX was great. Sticking around until tomorrow night.
  • This was my first PAX and I have mostly good things to say about it.

I was overall disappointed by the panel offerings though. A big portion of them were "we are an internet show, come watch us do our show but not on the internet" panels. There is nothing objectively wrong with those but they aren't that exciting for me since I don't care about most of those shows.

I ran into Scott at the board game area on Friday night. He commented on the game of Ticket to Ride I was playing with some friends and offered to tell us how to win. I was expecting him to say something insightful about managing risk or being deceptive when taking cards but he basically said "try to make routes which use other routes because they are worth lots of points".

While I continue to live in Boston, I'll definitely be going back.
  • How to win game. Get most points. Ticket to ride isn't complex enough to be tricky. Head straight towards victory.
  • It definitely wasn't wrong advice - just pretty obvious.

    Not to most people.
  • What are these bathroom shenanigans people are talking about?
  • What are these bathroom shenanigans people are talking about?

Long story short, the Convention Center followed their policy and switched some bathrooms over from female to male(four, I think), some people were upset and blamed PAX, PAX very rapidly saw the problem and negotiated with the convention center to get as many as possible switched back(which IIRC turned out to be two). The whole thing was over in under two hours.

Of course, a lot of people also freaked out and started calling it evidence that PAX is incredibly sexist and hostile to women, but frankly, that was going to happen no matter what.
  • PAX tried to get those bathrooms designated "gender neutral," but the City of Boston was pretty hostile to it and refused.
  • Well, another PAX down. Sorry I wasn't more social, but I was still getting over a cold and didn't want to be PAX POX patient zero. I had fun being a deputy this year, though, and I think I'll continue doing PC Freeplay at Prime.
  • The mayor of Boston is doing an AMA on reddit this Thursday. It might be a good opportunity to ask about the bag check situation.
