Against all impossible odds, I shall be going to PAX as I have booked a hotel that is not too far. Can you add me to the GroupMe? I am at geoffino04@gmail.com.
I got a complete set by passing the public card swaps but there are def a chunk of very rare ones. Won't be able to get you a complete set most likely but I'm more than happy to send you the commons. Also, they did their panel thing and took 10 crowd suggestions, sent them to the printer at 11PM, and are delivering them only to the people who came to that panel tomorrow. So yeah not getting those 10.
I am not at PAX East though, that is why I was hoping someone could acquire me a set (or most of one) and send them to me, and I will pay shipping cost, if desired.
This was my first PAX and I have mostly good things to say about it.
I was overall disappointed by the panel offerings though. A big portion of them were "we are an internet show, come watch us do our show but not on the internet" panels. There is nothing objectively wrong with those but they aren't that exciting for me since I don't care about most of those shows.
I ran into Scott at the board game area on Friday night. He commented on the game of Ticket to Ride I was playing with some friends and offered to tell us how to win. I was expecting him to say something insightful about managing risk or being deceptive when taking cards but he basically said "try to make routes which use other routes because they are worth lots of points".
While I continue to live in Boston, I'll definitely be going back.
What are these bathroom shenanigans people are talking about?
Long story short, the Convention Center followed their policy and switched some bathrooms over from female to male(four, I think), some people were upset and blamed PAX, PAX very rapidly saw the problem and negotiated with the convention center to get as many as possible switched back(which IIRC turned out to be two). The whole thing was over in under two hours.
Of course, a lot of people also freaked out and started calling it evidence that PAX is incredibly sexist and hostile to women, but frankly, that was going to happen no matter what.
Well, another PAX down. Sorry I wasn't more social, but I was still getting over a cold and didn't want to be PAX POX patient zero. I had fun being a deputy this year, though, and I think I'll continue doing PC Freeplay at Prime.

They also wouldn't let the con have more gender neutral bathrooms. They limited how many PAX could have without room for debate.
Boston is the problem, not PAX.

Handheld Lounge is a fucking fire code violation.
