I've never played Golden Sun, A Link to the Past, or any Mother game. Should I?
You can skip Golden Sun. It was a cool game when it came out because the graphics were nice for a handheld and there weren't really any other RPGs on the GBA, but I doubt it holds up.

This is not true. While they are JRPGS by definition, what carries them along are the very interesting ways of gameplay involving psynergy and the extremely well-thought out story and universe it presents.

Regarding the Link to the Past statement: Is there a reason you haven't played it yet? It is quite possibly the best Zelda game ever made.
Regarding the Mother series: Skip the first one as it's the worst offender in terms of a true JRPG (flaws and all). Do however play Earthbound (Mother 2) and Mother 3 as they are amazing games that I really cannot sum up in words as they must be experienced by the player alone. They are one of those must-play games if one appreciates video games to any degree.
Never saw Movie-wise: The Godfather (But I will watch it, Netflix is god), Anything from the Ridley Scott's Aliens series, Hurt Locker, Serenity...the only Western I've ever watched was 3:10 to Yuma.
Never played Game-wise: Shadow of the Colossus, Any Devil May Cry, Any Prince of Persia...
Movie I'm ashamed of loving: Bio-Dome
And I also adore reality shows: Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen (I have a hard-on for Ramsay), America's Got Talent, Any Food-Related Competition...but not Jersey Shore or anything like on TLC. I have some standards. XD

That's what I hear, and that's why I want to play it. I don't generally love Zelda games, so I don't generally seek to play them, but I feel like I should definitely play that one because it's supposedly the best.

The Money Pit is required viewing on the first night that anyone moves into a new house!
My confession list: Movies - Top Gun, The Breakfast Club
Video Games: - most of the good JRPGs, especially FF6 (I've only played the SNES Mario RPG that got me started on them, followed by Chrono Trigger, FF7, Xenogears, and Golden Sun, that's all) - Played almost every Zelda game EXCEPT A Link To The Past - Never played a Metal Gear game. Are these worth going back for?
I noticed nobody has mentioned board games. I've been on a huge BG kick lately and have managed to play most of the top-rated games on my list. The last two remaining are Puerto Rico and Tigris & Euphrates, which I know are classics but I've just never had the opportunity to play.
Movies: The Big Lebowski. I've seen the relevant bits for most of the memes to be recognizable, but I've never watched the whole thing all the way through. Same goes for the Rocky movies and the Godfather movies.
Games: I've started (and re-started) pretty much every game in the Final Fantasy 1-9 series at least once, but only finished number 7, and that was because I forced myself. Also, I've never played through the story mode of any of the Halo games, but that may be more of a blessing than anything...
Dirty Secrets:
Music: Bubblegum-grade pop doesn't offend me and I have been known to sing along with the radio when Avril Lavigne or Miley Cyrus tracks come on.
Movies: Pretty much any romantic comedy my girlfriend "drags me to". Sure, they're midless, vapid, and ultimately predictable, but sometimes it's nice to be able to turn off your brain, eat your popcorn, and have the story spoon-fed to you. (Unless the story is so bad it ends up being unwatchable - my disbelief can only be suspended for so long, you know.)
- Never played a Metal Gear game. Are these worth going back for?
The original and the sequel on the MSX2, yes. Skip the NES version and its sequel. The original PS1 game, possibly (if you can play it on actual PS1 or PS2 hardware). All the rest after that, well, since Unca Hideo went batshit crazy, I'd skip 'em.
Having played Golden Sun, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Silver and FF7, I've completely lost interest in RPG games. No matter which I try, the menus quickly bore me so much I don't come back.
I can't speak for the original Metal Gear games, but the first three Metal Gear Solid games are all worth playing, and you can buy them as a set fairly cheaply. If you only play one of them, though, make it Metal Gear Solid 3. It has the best gameplay of the series and it comes first chronologically in the series, so you don't really have to have any prior knowledge of the series to enjoy it.
Definitely play Metal Gear Solid 2. It's one of the few games that has a story that could only have been told effectively through a video game. Plus it's the video game equivalent of Hideo Kojima giving Metal Gear Solid 1 fanboys the finger.
... How could anybody be ashamed of seeing Ghost in the Shell?
Movies I've never seen: Many of the movies you guys already listed. Although I have seen Citizen Kane, and I didn't really like it at all (although I see the historical film value whateverness of it). I never got through 2001 because I kept falling asleep.
Games I've never played: Insert almost every game here, because I'm not much of a gamer. I've played the classic Nintendo games, Zelda, Mario etc. I also love The Sims and the Elder Scrolls games. Thats about it though I guess.
Embarrassing Music: I used to love BSB and the Spice Girls. Now whenever I hear the music (rare occasion) I can't help but sing along.
Embarrassing Movies: I use to love the Last Unicorn as a kid, so I bought it recently to re-watch it. Wow, its special. I also recently watched Double Double Toil and Trouble (old Mary Kate and Ashley movie) on Netflix because it was instant, and I liked it as a kid. Wow, that was also special.
Embarrassing TV shows: As a kid (middle school?), I loved Digimon. Like, I taped it everyday so I could watch it after school. I also loved TMNT. Not embarrassing in itself, except that I had a stupid kid crush on freaking turtle people. >_>;
I own the first Spice Girls CD (still have it hidden in my desk at my parent's house) and I can pretty much remember every song by memory.
On a related, keep questioning my manliness, note: I loved the Rainbow Bright movie to death, watched every time it was on while dreaming about being Krys

In addition, I have yet to finish playing Skies of Arcadia: Legends.
Why hasn't Nintendo released a 2D Metroid for the DS?

EDIT: I also just realized that I still haven't seen 2001 or Dr. Strangelove. I need more Kubrick in my life.
I love The Money Pit.
