  • I loved the Rainbow Brightmovieto death
I saw that when it came out on VHS. Mom rented a VCR so we could watch it.

Yeah, in those days it was common for video stores to rent you a VCR because they were not in every home.

I remember when Blockbuster would rent out Sega Genesis' and N64s so you could play the games they rented.

Those were very good days...I miss 'em so much. I even remember when they briefly had Virtual Boys for rental. What is this feeling? Is this age?! No!!
  • Oh man, those big blue locked cases with PSX's inside. Nostalgia'd so hard.
  • I never posted in this thread.

Oh man, I rented a Dreamcast from Hollywood Video back when they had the deal with Sega where they had them available prior to launch.
  • I still maintain that Super Mario Sunshine is better than Mario 64, and to hell with all of you naysayers!

I only agree because I've never really played 64 and when I have, I got nauseated. -_-

I haven't seen any of the following:
    1) The Indiana Jones Series
    2) The Alien Series
    3) The Predator Series
    4) The Gadfather Series (or really, any "gangster films")
    5) The Rambo Series
    6) The Rocky Series
    7) Any Bruce Lee Film

I haven't played most video games. I have played a Mario game once or twice and a Zelda game once (these are instances of play, not playing the entire game), etc. and I have never finished playing any video game.

@ DZ: I still own the Spice Girls' first CD and I still play it on occasion when I work out (it is pretty decent work out music). I also own the Spice Girls movie and saw them in concert. My best friend in high school bought me the CD as partial joke. He and I actually got into them as a pop culture phenomenon and the strange disconnect between their attempts to promote a feminist agenda, while representing some very anti-feminist ideals. Mostly, though, it was silly music and we would dress up like freaks and dance like crazy to it in my bedroom. Good times.

    My recommendations concerning these:

1): Only see the Original Trilogy, don't see the 4th as it is so mediocre compared to the rest.
2): Only see Alien and Aliens.
4): I take issue with the way this is presented because the Godfather films are not just regular, shoot-em-up, gangster films. They're movies that actually take the characters, story, and setting into consideration and don't stereotype them to the point where it is practically racist. On the subject of the films themselves, only see I and II, pretend III is non-existent.
5): I've only seen First Blood (Rambo I) and First Blood: Part II (Rambo II); and they were solid action films.
6): I think you will greatly enjoy the first two because they are solid films that anyone can enjoy; and Rocky himself is someone any one person can relate to regardless of background. III and onwards just get schlocky and corny.

  • I love reading racist on the internet. I'm not personally a racist, and can't really comprehend the mental gymnastics required to be one, but somehow the social phenomena of racism fascinates me.

I think it's similar to why I read really weird, out-there conspiracies. It's just so weird and foreign to my thought process that it just comes out funny.

(They're not funny when they violently act on their writings, but the writings themselves are funny.)

I find racism fascinating as well. I find it fascinating that a person can shovel any kind of kindness and thought into a bottomless pit and act on pointless and meaningless hatreds.
