Greyson97 doing a cover of a song I must admit I've never heard before, Lady Gaga's Paparazzi. 97? Fuck, that means he's only 13 years old. The best bit is watching the girls in the background. They go from "Who's this nerd?" to "I want him in my pants right now" in about 20 seconds.

Do not listen to any of her music. It's all terrible and will get stuck in your head, which is the worst part.
From what I've heard, her music isn't bad at all, it just exists outside of my current methods of listening to music. The only way I hear it is through cover versions on youtube. For example, Polka Face: Although, to be honest, I have heard the real version of Poker Face. I think that's the only song of hers I could name though. I quite like it, for mindless pop music.
The Humble Indie Bundle was a huge success. They made over a million dollars, so they're going to release the source codes for Gish, Penumbra, Lugaru, and Aquaria. Plus, I've heard that each developer made like $140,000, and that's awesome.

Samorost 2 is now in the bundle! I'm so glad I waited!

The fact that they've made *this* much money on a pay-what-you-want model, totally DRM-free, really shows how outdated the current standard for PC game releases is. I wonder if these sales figures are going to have an impact on the way video games are released, in the future.
I only already had World of Goo, so it was a good deal for me. I've been eying Flotilla, Plain Sight, and The Adventures of P.B. Winterbottom. Thinking I'm going to commit tonight since they're all very cheap today.

Well, GTA IV made $500 million in a week, to give a point of reference.
I never said there was anything wrong with the model - I think it's awesome, and the more games released this way, the better. However, it's important to keep things in perspective.

You also have to consider how much more spread out that money is for a huge game like GTA. They draw a shitload of money, but that money is divided up among a shitload of people. An indie game might make significantly less money, but that money only need go to a relatively small dev team. In this scenario, a programmer of a successful indie game could potentially make as much money as the average GTA employee, maybe more.
If you're going to talk about industry changes, this is the real "perspective". If individual people were somehow able pull off making as much money as they would working for a large game company, that would be the real game-changer.
[Edit] Changed my whole post as Gunter was commenting, just fyi in case the continuity doesn't look right.
I think the point he's making is that major companies are more likely to emulate the business model that helped GTA IV make $500 million in seven days. The Humble Indie Bundle is awesome, but I don't think we should get too excited about how it's going to affect the industry at large.
My thing of the day is not really a thing of today.... My birthday was the eighth of May and it was fun. Being that I'm totally an old guy (No, I joke) I didn't have a party, but I went to a concert which was sort of unrelated in that I probably would have gone even if it wasn't my birthday. Woooooo Youth!

Having watched Detroit Metal City, a death metal version of "How Deep is Your Love" takes on a completely different meaning.
I also need to get Flotilla at some point.

There's at almost 200 of these videos combining retro video games with music.
