Someone on Reddit posted this, and it works surprisingly well
I'm very surprised you guys have never done this before. My friends and I made a lot of these in 11th grade to pass the time in class. Actually, the last band I was in we took our name from the "Random Wikipedia Article" link. We were called 1947 In Science.
I did that just now, and it Sent me to....Iron Maiden. Second try, we got Traumatic Insemination, Cornelius Newton Bliss, and then Higashi-Naruo Station.
See, I've always wondered about that - The hero always picks up the car, and throws it. Considering the leverage and Ballistics of a car thrown from only one point on the body, two at most - not to mention that the force required to launch a car from that single point would cause terrible damage to the car, and absorb much of the throwing force - wouldn't it just be more effective to drive it into them at 70 miles an hour?
Your mistake was applying physics to something physically impossible.
But, nerds will be nerds.
But, It's not impossible under the laws of physics, merely startlingly inefficient of a way to hit someone with a car. Not Humanly possible without assistance, however, who are you to say that the mechanical assistance required isn't possible?
That said, I can see where you're coming from. The problem is juxtaposing superheros. If it was some terminator doing that, the terminator would be all about the ripping through things and we'd expect that.
The problem is taking logical step number one and then firmly staying there and not wondering, how the crap would his arm not dislocate, how'd he summon so much force, etc..
Does that Picture show a human being? That picture clearly shows a alpha Centralian in humanoid form, who are empowered by being on earth, and could easily achieve such a feat as picking up a car. He doesn't need mechanical assistance, so of course he doesn't have any. Oh, my mistake, I just noticed the dimple on his chin, which in Alpha centralians is impossible, due to a rigid bone structure there, he's obviously an extremely mutated being, who is obviously different enough to a human being that they are no longer a human being. Nope, wait, hold on, look at the wierd facial expressions - it's clearly a robot, with a hologram wrapped around it, but obviously it's memory banks were damaged in it's time travelling, and the first person like object it saw was a character drawn by Rob lyfield, thus explaining the fucked up anatomy.

Or the problem of caring too much, aka, inability to suspend disbelief for some reason. For example, are you complaining when a character, such as, say, in this example, Hank the Tank up there, he picks up a car and throws it, but the explanation is that he's a mutant, his power comes from a very close range PK field, and to do feats like that, when he wants to pick up something, he grabs it and unconsciously extends his PK field over the object, and his PK field has an arbitrary upper limit. It's an absolutely bullshit explanation that I pulled out of thin air, but it's good enough, unless you're being pedantic that it must be absolutely realistic, in which case, why are you reading fiction in the first place? If it's explained well enough and is internally consistent, fair enough.

This guy finished I Wanna Be The Guy on Impossible (i.e. no save points).
But yeah, here they are.
[Edit] Wow, they're actually not terrible.
Loved.
Something poetic about this.

and for those of you trying to get a new iPhone.
In short: If you are going to break belief, don't expect the break to stop where you want it.

I do say; The lady in golf attire looks awfully dashing.
Something about the style of the 1920s I really like.
