Apparently, exactly like that. A sensible superhero, now there's a rarity - I'll be picking this up, methinks.
Though it's technically a superhero book, it's actually less a superhero book and more a sitcom about a self-conscious superheroine, her thug boyfriend, her ninja princess friend, and the eldritch starspawn, blazing-eyed demongoat imprisoned in an article of alien bondage gear on their coffee table.
After 10 minutes of demanding to be serenaded and many failed attempts to fulfill my request, Pete crooned an improvised rendition of Peter Olsen's Blues, a completely made up on-the-spot song about his afternoon that he managed to make rhyme. I have not laughed so much in a long time. (The style was highly reminiscent of Mystery.)
I want to read Empowered, but I don't want to have Empowered sitting anywhere in my house.
Torrent + CBR/CBZ files = Success! ;-)
Solution: Piracy?
Damn, you beat me to it...
And for what it's worth, I do own hardcopy of the first three books (with plans to buy the whole set) - I just don't leave them laying out on the coffee table. ;-)
I feel a deep kinship with that old man. When I was little, kids in school would bully me and take the tastiest parts of my lunch. One day I just got fed up and started fighting them off by using rubber bands to shoot folded up paper at them. Those things would hit and it would sting like a motherfucker.
