  • I read that title, and I couldn't help but hear it in Jerry Seinfield's voice.
  • Popular YouTube Let's Player and the developer of Nuclear Throne just screw with the game until it becomes utterly ridiculous.

  • I was getting 2nd or 3rd place (in 6 player games) most of the time, but the game just always dragged ON and ON and was so boring. Maybe it was just the groups I was playing with but it just wasn't fun.

There are a bunch of reasons it can drag, but I'm a little curious which ones you encountered. I've seen people that get TOO attached to the wheeling and dealing of the bidding process (similar to Catan trades that take way too long) and then I've seen people that spend too much time over analyzing and agonizing over a single decision (that might be roughly comparably successful).

My thing of this day is our resident "specialist" (aka "that guy" that only likes Power Grid and St. Petersburg) standing up, yelling "Fuck this game!", and rage quitting game day.

He was playing Settlers of Catan.

That was my exact reaction to Power Grid. I will never willfully play that game ever again.
What did Power Grid do to you?

It's a great game, and you'll know you've solved it when you spend every single dollar on at least 1/3-1/2 of your turns.

If Power Grid isn't a relatively fast game, then your friends can't do maths quickly and should be banned from the game. ;^)

Hard to do when it's their game.

Mostly this. Lots of hemming and hawing over whether they want wind or just get more oil or coal or whatever. Blahdy blahdy blah. I typically don't give two damns or a fuck because it's just a game. I just buy what looks like the best thing at a glance and get on with it.
  • My thing of the day: Hawkeye at the Golden Globes

  • That DND character generation page and the Thug Life Youtube channel gave me some laughs.
  • Best news spot I've ever seen on my hobby.

Autoplay warning. I wish they wouldn't do that. But they do.

  • My thing of the day is that thanks to their Patreon there will be another season of bi-weekly crapshots as well as six episodes of commodoreHustle by LoadingReadyRun
  • And the comments on there are "He should be teaching them good sportsmanship." I'm sorry, is good sportsmanship making a great team descend to mediocrity? Isn't the driving idea of sports that it is a test of physical excellence?
  • Damn you sent me into a coughing fit because I'm both sick and laughing.
  • Good sportsmanship is not in the victory of loss, but in the way it's handled. Like if the coach had, after the victory, gone to the other team's coach, flipped them a bird and said "I totally kicked your ass, so suck it!"
That would have been bad sportsmanship.
  • Girls basketball - it's about making the parents not feel bad about their kids.
  • If the other team is so bad that they score 2 points, literally one jump shot or free throws, the referee should be calling mercy rule and ending that level of insanity.
  • That was actually really cool. A great example of the maker spirit right there.

  • A very lucky someone:

  • Initially you wouldn't think a young, black gay guy could gain popularity from the League of Legends community but it happens. The following video shows him answering questions sent from the community who seem to have difficulty with the concept of guy being anything but heterosexual.
