Aww, and its got the big poofy cheeks and everything! They should adopt it and name it Mr. Chesterfield unless it's a girl bunny in which case they should name it Missus Chesterfield.

From what I hear, the girls are going to keep it until an owner comes to claim it. It is a girl bunny, and the name they decided on was Pandora.
They probably should've left it in their garden so it could go from where it came in the first place.
Univers, I'm not sure if you are saying that you can't tell the difference between a domesticated rabbit and a wild rabbit, or that you think they should have let it eventually hop back home. You can tell at a glance that this is a runaway or abandoned pet, in which case the best course of action is to take it indoors so it is protected from cars/dogs/hawks/etc. until it's owner can be found. I don't get why you can be so hung up on cats, yet so cavalier about other animals, unless you are doing it to tease me.

That's a good name! I hope they either find a very relieved owner or become bunny owners. That's how I ended up with a zebra finch. He flew onto my porch and we let him inside, but since we never found his owner he stayed in a cage in the dining room for many years.
I'm not hung up on cats and 'cavalier' about everything else. I would've said the same fucking thing if it was a cat. I'm still not a fucking cat no matter how hard you folks keep wishing for it.
This. You people went on about how smart rabbits are, so here I say then leave it alone since obviously it can find its way home. Yet now you cry they are saints for taking it in.
Did I say anything about saints? No, I said "EEE! Little tan bunny! They should adopt it!" (If no one wants it back, of course) I'm not the loudest, but seriously, I have a history of being feisty and defensive of my beloved pets, man! In Elementary school I had a bunny and the bullies always said they were going to shoot him and eat him. Don't be like them. Be my friend!
Nope.avi. Not when it's such a smart animal like a rabbit, I mean, it arrived fine at their place, who knows it was just looking around before returning home.Really you should get it the police and/or local animal rescue to take care of it and find the owner. A smart owner would after all check with those instances instead of a random house.
It has less to do with its being smart and more to do with its being tasty to many other organisms. They did what the humane society says to do if you find a pet rabbit wandering around.Of course you put in a police report, but they don't mind if you can take care of it in the interim. Lessens the burden on the police and shelters. This is what we have done with runaway dogs before: Call the number on the dogtag, whilst letting it hang out in the kitchen and have some water. The sad thing is, people often abandon small animals, so rather than letting it go away again, it's better to take it in temporarily to find out whether it is abandoned or just run away.

Maybe they were just poor kids who were starving and saw you keeping a feed animal as a pet. Many things look different through the eyes of a child. I once thought I saw Buddha sitting on a planter of flowers in downtown Chicago. Turned out to just be a morbidly obese homeless man with the sun behind his head.

No, they were just suburban dickheads who thought it was fun to wind me up by teasing me. Granted, I got wound up on this issue easily (and still do, as you can see) and it was my downfall.
