Aprils Fools on the internets

edited April 2008 in Everything Else
I just want to tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand. I LOL'D at Lathers Blather when it jumped in my Rhythmbox a few mins ago.

I think that tactic will be overused a lot more today.

The Google thing was talked about here already.

ANN has the Ultimate Mop Daisuke DX manga. I don't think anyone who doesn't read Anime News Nina or is a regular on the forum will get it. :P

  • I just got up and the best thing I have seen so far is MTG Duel Decks: Pirates vs. Ninjas, but that is filled with insider Jokes.
  • Youtube's featured videos are something special.

Wow. That's a really good one.
  • Those crazy Anons. :P
Speaking of 4chan, /b/'s "Dynamic Posting" is pretty hilarious. (NSFW, of course). Try replying to a thread (with javascript enabled).
  • I'd like to reiterate what I've said before. April fool's is supposed to be about fooling people. Tricking them into thinking or doing something, then letting them know they were tricked. All these people who just put up obviously wacky shit are totally lame and unfunny.
  • I think one of the best online April Fools gags was when the guys at BoardGameGeek made it appear that everyone had been given full admin rights on the site.

    That one even got me.
  • DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING ANYONE SAYS FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
You forgot to include the time differences Scott. Every date lasts longer than 24 hours on the earth. It only lasts 24 hours in one spot. Well, north-south meridian (what are the called in English officially?).
  • what are the called in English officially?
    Albionites.

I thought about that, but I was too lazy to bother writing anything different.

ImprovEverywhere did a site redesign. 1995 back for a day.

Pah, I just looked meridian up, apparently that was the correct one. So what are the east to west ones called then?

  • I'm so glad the internet no longer looks like that. My eyes hurt now.

Well...Myspace is still there but whatever.

Crap. You just nullified my statement!

Unless I just claim that Myspace is not part of the internet...
  • This is actually a pretty weak April Fools so far. I sense an April Fool's fatigue.

We'll just say Myspace is in another tube in the internet. :P

The BBC special story about penguins is pretty good.

Edit: From YouTube, if you prefer a quicker fix.

    Surprisingly well done IGN.
    That is so fricking awesome.

Who would see it if it came out April 1st, 2009? Hopefully they'll follow the entire Ocarina of Time story and don't butcher too much in.

Awesome Thinkgeek. I really like the maze lock and the converter.
