Wait, did I pay $10 or $15 for that Castlevania game? Why can't they just list prices in dollars? Why can't they at least do what Wii does and have a nice round number to convert dollars to points?
Like Li said, they're tricking you into spending more money than you think you are. People who will balk at a price point of $15 may not blink twice over spending "1200 points". Plus there's the added screw-job of the "leftover points" issue - they've been sitting on 160 points of mine ($2.00) for a few months because of an oddball pricing point on a couple bits of DLC I picked up. My two bucks may not amount to much, but multiply that by several hundred thousand XBL users and you're looking at a pretty big chunk of change that Microsoft is hoarding. Now I just have to figure out what to spend those points on that isn't something useless, because they're not likely to end up coming up to an even amount anytime soon. *shrug*

In order to avoid paying for points, I'm trying out this Points2Shop thing suggested by GreatTeacherMacRoss over at this thread. So far, I am about halfway to earning a $20.00 (or 1600 point) card after trying it for about 3 or 4 weeks for maybe a couple of hours each week. Normally wouldn't mind the slow progress, but there are quite a few games I want to play from XBLA this summer; namely Scott Pilgrim and Limbo.
Reflecting on the 6th Book, I think I can really appreciate the story of Scott Pilgrim for the entire set up of it all. Because there are just a lot of layers and dimensions to things within the series, that makes me think that this story will be best read all within one read. I still have issues with the attitude, but when I think about the how the plot got expanded, I can appreciate the series much more.
Also, they are advertising the fuck out of this movie. Anyone else notice? @_@
"sell out" is basically the "I can't think of a real reason why I don't like this thing, so I'm going to make up shit rather than just say that it's not for me" excuse.
Stopped reading when he called Edgar Wright a "sell-out".
I read the whole thing and facepalmed several times throughout the course of it. For a guy who claims to be the smartest critic in the world, he definitely didn't get the movie or its source material.
This is the same person who didn't like Toy Story 3. Usually not an excuse but...I mean, it's Toy Story 3.
And to be fair, I don't think the Kurt Vonnegut reference is that far off. I think only Canadians would of automatically connected Scott Pilgrim with Plumtree. We all had to do research before knowing that.

I think most people would not assume it references anything. It's ridiculous because he tries to forcibly tack on a literary reference and use it as a reason to criticize the lack of "social commentary" in the movie.
I don't think this guy is who he claims to be. I think he's the trolliest movie critic in the world, not the smartest.
I think that the entire Scott Pilgrim franchaise is kind of unrelatable to people over the age of 40. I don't blame him for thinking that it is just a bunch of random shit, he just isn't in our generation.
