Wrong. It's Sgt. Pepper first, White Album second, and Rubber Soul third. This is the correct ordering based on impact on the music world. The White Album is my favorite, however.
Revolver was more important than White Album and Rubber Soul. Rolling Stone agrees.

    Rolling Stone agrees.
Rolling Stone also said that "Like A Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan was the greatest song of all time(surprise surprise), and came up with this horribly skewed list of the "Greatest Guitarists of All Time". I mean, Kurt Cobain as number 12? Puh-leeez. He should have at least twice that score.

The Rolling Stone bit was a joke. I should have made that more obvious. Nonetheless, Revolver is incredibly important. Most White Album tracks can be traced back to a Revolver tune. Would we ever have Revolution 9 without Tomorrow Never Knows, perhaps the most important Beatles song after A Day In the Life?

Just because something comes as the result of something else does not make the original thing superior. Revolver was underdeveloped and The White Album was the full realization of the concept, so to speak.

Revolver was the first album where they experimented with tape loops, reverse guitars, among many other things.

I stand by what I said. White Album was Revolver++.
  • Wow. It's like another day in Euro...

Revolver had the most impact on their later work, and therefor the most impact on psychedelic music in general.
  • GOOD GOD, My mom is the biggest Beatles nut in the state of Wisconsin. She still thinks it's 1960's and 70's.
  • It is weird. My father is a musician and knows more about music from that era than anyone I have ever encountered, but he is not a Beatles fan. He certainly respects John Lennon's song-writing and George Harrison's music ability, but he isn't a fan. Just kinda weird. ^_^
  • I'm of the opinion that anyone who enjoys or plays music, especially rock genres, owes something to the Beatles.
I'm of the opinion that anyone who enjoys or plays music, especially rock genres, owes something to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

    Fixed.
  • My family jut got the Remastered Stereo "Collectors Edition" for my father's birthday. I gotta say that the money spent on it was well worth it. If only because every time that I listen to this songs I find something new on them.
All my loving goes to this set!

Funny you should mention that. I'm a fan of The Beatles, Mozart, and Pythagoras.

Oh, and Rubber Soul uber alles.

Rubber soul is the best thing that ever happened to the Beatles. It symbolizes their true evolution.

Rubber Soul is the only album released pretty much ever in which I can't think of a song that I don't like. Rubber Soul is like this perfect album. And rarely do you hear any songs from it. :/

Baby you can drive my car~

I've got the White Album downstairs in a box full or records, although I think it should be called the Grey Album by now :P

  • I didn't know that actually existed, I was just trying to be funny. Dammit! I thought my joke was original!
  • I think when I was around 12-13 I listen to some of my brother's old CDs and remember listening to The Beatles and enjoying it, even if it was a bit odd due to their lyrics. (Sgt Peppers mostly) But now, I really appreciate and understand The Beatles for who they were and what they did and their impact on music.

    Rock Band helped too.

Oh my god, the Beatles: Rock Band is fantastic.
  • The Beatles are one of the 2 biggest bands in my life and I am a HUGE Beatles dork.

I know way more about that band then most 23 year olds should. That's all I really have to add to this at the moment, lol

Hell I'm 19 and I know more than I should!

What's the other band, out of curiosity?

    Burzum.
  • I was expecting Merzbow, but I suppose that works too.
  • While I do like the Beatles, I would not call them one of my favorite bands. I honestly think they are over-hyped.
  • I honestly think they are over-hyped.
Of course they are. They were the most popular band of all time.
