    For all his complaining, I'd like to point out that Rym is actually still playing the game.
    There are no other FPS to play except NS and CS. I eventually get sick of them.

    There are also no good stateless symmetrical class-based capture-the-flag games left, which are what I really want to play...
    The communities might be small, but there are plenty of games and mods out there you can play. People are still playing that Fortress Forever mod, or TFC, and even Quake 4 CTF. Even if no other game existed, better to play no game than a crappy game.

    No they're not. I looked. Empty, barren servers as far as the eye can see, with a few people playing against bots on high-latency servers far in the distance.
    TFC
    TF2 is better than TFC. TFC is just awful.
    Quake 4 CTF
    I'd rather play Quake 2 Lithium CTF, but I need a server and people.

    Try Dystopia, I've been playing it recently, and i like it a lot.

    I'd like to say that the Pyro unlockables are really worse than the originals for my uses. Being able to air-blast people who are ubercharged around is a great help. The shotgun is a good weapon and I prefer it to the long range of the flare gun and I don't really use the melee weapon at all.
    If you aren't going to do anything about setting up other games for other people to play, could you please stop complaining.
    FYI: We will soon have a Tribes 2 server in operation, read the Geekchat thread.

    I find that the flare gun isn't all that great either. Usually when someone hits me with it, I am not in the middle of battle. It doesn't hurt enough to ever kill me. I have enough time to just go get some HP. I've never used it as a long range spy check, though. Anyway, I see the flare gun as more of a " HAHA! you're on fire now!". So, I agree with you, Omnutia. I'm not good enough to catch people with the axe but I have been successfully axetingquished many times.

    TryDystopia, I've been playing it recently, and i like it a lot.
    Dystopia is one the best class-based mods out there. I used to play it, I really liked how you could choose what "perks" you wanted.

    Just play long enough really. After a while the game glitched up and I got Pyro milestones 2 and 3 at the same time.

    Well if you wanna cheat, there's usually 'achievement' servers. This is where bots and other people 'help' you out unlocking stuff.

    From what I've seen, most people jumped into those achievement farms as soon as possible and never looked back. Most of the few people who didn't were unaware of their existence and farmed the achievements with a few friends in an empty server.

    Has anyone played Urban Terror? Its a Q3 mod which is now standalone. I'm playing it now cause there aren't many games on OS X (also on win/linux), so I thought I'd give it a try. Who knows, it might be better than TF2.

    I played that in beta, when we were looking a more modern game to replace the fantastic Action Quake2 . It was awful to the point of being unplayable at the time. I really can't imagine that it was ever more than a poor man's CounterStrike.

    I does still seem to be like that, though it does also have CTF and DM. If I get around to putting XP on this Macbook I'll play some better games.

    I the only Pyro unlockable I use is the backburner.
    The flare gun is just pointless most the time, the shotgun comes in handy alot more than the flare gun.
    The axetinguisher is just lame, if you burning the guy all ready why the hell would do u take an axe out...

    If its a heavy you do, that thing can take down a Heavy on fire in two or three hits. If you just keep hitting him with fire it will take longer. Most other classes drop in one hit, so its great for quickly lighting someone up and then just chopping them down.

    I never tried that, Kiey. I always die miserably to a heavy. Let's see if that works!
