  • No. You know what cum hoc ergo propter hoc is, right? Google it.
No, I Googled it just now though. I'm not that great with remembering the names of fallacies.
  • I don't know what they were thinking when they invented the blink tag.

I don't use the fucking blink tag. I use the blink value of the text-decoration property. Another reason to love Firefox, you can turn it off with a simple config change.

  • I decided that with all of this Windows 7 business and your screenshots, I would make my desktop pretty and share it. So, yeah, it isn't done yet, but here you go. FYI, everything auto-hides, so I can use my full 19" monitor for viewing.

If anyone can help me, I'd like to totally get rid of the taskbar/start button. I have a program to do this, but when I do, I don't have an easy way to manage open windows, and alt-tabbing for everything seems like a difficult habit to get into. Does anyone maybe know a widget or a program that would display my open windows in RocketDock or on my desktop somewhere? Also, I could take alternative solutions for managing my open windows.
Avant-window-manager on windows would do the job, but you're on windows :( A mac would also do it (duh). Not sure for windows though. Your desktop looks pretty sweet though, none of the crappy window-ness.
I would assume you meant avant-window-manager on linux. Either way, the best I could come up with was an improved alt-tab manager I found that shows the a preview window when I alt-tab, but I'm still now satisfied.

Yeah, I think I've done a pretty good job at making it now look like windows. I mean, that's still the start menu on the left, but it's skinned orange and black, which I miraculously found as an official pack from Microsoft called the Zune theme.
  • Have you seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann? A spoiler:Yoko kissed Kamina. Yoko kissed Kittan. Both died shortly after that kiss.
Technically: Kittan kissed Yoko; she didn't kiss him, and didn't even return the kiss either. Plus, Kittan was planning on dying before kissing her anyway. There was no way he was coming back alive from what he was going to do.

Yoko's lips touched his, end of story. Seriously now, why the hell are you people over-analyzing this? It's just a joke, "OMG, EVERYONE SHE KISSES DIES!", that's expected, everyone dies. EDIT: Why did you break my comment, the one you quoted?

Woops! I hate if when I do that. Yes, I meant linux.

    Whoa that's a nice mix. :P Is it from real anime/manga/visual novel/light novel/doujinshi/etc?

  • Closest I've seen would be She: The Ultimate Weapon but I suspect it's just generic.

Great... another version of that image.

Solution, don't hotlink. If hotlinking doesn't work, just upload the image to a photobucket or imageshack.

Red version.imageI thought I had the blue version, somewhere, but I don't see it. Might not have bothered saving it.

Cool, thanks. I might look for the blue one.

I'd never seen that image before. Sorry for not having seen everything on the internet, jeez. ¬.¬

Link to the version I posted up on AnimePaper, though you need a membership to get it there (I must have downloaded it from a random forum, since I sure don't have an account there): http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/wallpapers/luvneji/item77662/
  • The both of you are just making a post hoc fallacy. Just because she kissed him doesn't mean she was the cause of his death.
I think he was getting at the fact that when SPOILERSshe kissed Kittan, he also died shortly afterwards.SPOILERS.
That was exactly what I whispered to SOnic.

Sonic is wrong about it being apost hocfallacy; the fallacy made was in factcum hoc ergo propter hoc

    post-hoc
    We're both right.

Don't worry. I'm more annoyed by the poor editing job they did. If you're going to remove all but the character, do remove the embers passing over her too. You could also just have uploaded your background instead of linking to, what you too indicate, horrible wallpaper remix site.

  • Yeah, I logged into that site with BugMeNot and that was one of the worst sites I've ever been to. I couldn't even get the wallpaper. I couldn't even make a profile because I had already logged in with BMN, and used IP tracking instead of email tracking. Do you have a link to the background itself? Thanks for the trouble, though, even if you don't. ^^
  • Yeah, I've been to that site for a couple things in the past, but it was overall a pretty shitty site, and I left as soon as it stopped letting me get wallpapers without an account. :P

Also, as for the image itself - it looked great to me before I saw the original image, and I think I still prefer it because the blue V in the corner there enhances the pose, IMHO. I will agree with you that they should have edited out the embers now that I've seen the original, though.

    Anyway, upload! :) http://robomiko.com/temp/robomoeangelthing.jpg
  • the embers
Darn it, 3 o'clock ain't a good time to be posting. Thanks.

That background would be awesome if not for that ugly ass car in the bottom.

It's not that ugly a car. From this angle it looks decent, no eye sore. In the light of the picture however, it is indeed a horrendous eyesore.

    I like the older Rx-7s :(

Edit: Plus it looks like a fun drifting corner, hence the Initial D car.

Can you post the wallpaper separately? I have a friend who has an un-healthy obsession with 2nd gen RX-7's

    You suck. Rotary engines ftw.

Yes, rotary engines are awesome, it's still an ugly gray in an other wise nature coloured image. Rotary engines do nothing to make a car look nice anyway.
