How soon after starting the game does it crash? Immediately would suggest it's drawing more power than the PSU has got. If it shuts down after a while then it's probably a heat problem.
If you think it's a heat problem, why not try the bloody obvious test - monitor your temperatures! Get a program like HWiNFO32 to do it, it's one of the better ones and monitors the temperatures of multiple components. GPU-Z is a nice tool for GPU-only monitoring, though.
If the temperatures are within normal bounds, it could be a power issue, or something else entirely.
I've used that one, but there were a couple of things I found lacking. Firstly, with my graphics card, I only get one temperature reading, rather than the three I get with other applications. Other than that, I prefer GPU-Z because it also monitors clock speed and GPU load. It also has fan speed, although it doesn't work for my laptop - understandably so, since the GPU doesn't actually have its own fan, but rather one that is shared with the CPU.
Apart from that, GPU-Z can log sensor data to a text file, which is very nice if you want to make a temperature graph later.
The card statistics are cluttered, but they give plenty of good info - quite good for screenshots. On the other hand, the sensor tab is relatively uncluttered, I'd say, and graph >> min/max/avg any day (although adding min/max/avg as well is a nice touch).
The fan works, but I'm unsure if they are clean. The drivers are up to date. I don't have a temp monitoring program yet, which is best between NWMonitor, HWiNFO32, or GPU-Z? And which of these has the least chance of me changing a temp setting by mistake?
This is less of a problem, more of a mild annoyance, but Windows 7 seems to block inbound connections on higher number ports while allowing them at lower numbers. In both uTorrent and Pulptunes, having my usual ports of 9000+ forwarded seems to block access (Even within the LAN.) but drop things down to 6000+ and everything works.

Anyone else encountered this?
Nope - I'm pushing my torrents though port 9090, and everything works fine.
Check your router. Disable Windows 7 Firewall. If you have a NAT router that is working properly, The Windows firewall will only protect you from other people in your house. Windows 7 is actually pretty clever because you can configure network security differently when at home, work, or public.
Is what I got. Nothing running hot, but I wasn't in the middle of anything that would cause it to run hot. Since I don't have any games, are there programs that can reproduce the conditions a pc deals with when gaming, so that I could take a look at the monitor then?
Next step is moving ram, apparently it's causing issues being set away from the CPU. I thought the opposite would be true.
When I load certain websites, they appear, then Firefox loads a blank wyciwyg page. One such website is Penny Arcade. I know that this has to do with the cache, which I've cleared by going to Tools>Options>Advanced>Offline Storage>Clear Now. I've also started Firefox in Safe Mode, so I know that none of my add-ons are causing this. These are the only suggestions that Mozilla gives when other people ask this question. Aside from manually clearing my cache folder, any other ideas as to what could be causing this?
So, problems with ads and something else...Interesting. I do have Adblock, but it doesn't automatically stop all ads from loading. Is there a setting somewhere in Adblock that does this?
No problems there it seems. Strange, but I can't help you then. As for Adblock (Plus), just set the "Collapse empty elements" setting and it will just remove all the stuff which means Firefox doesn't have to make calls for the image ads.
Yeah, the problem is definitely with Firefox, because IE displays the website just fine. I considered switching over to Chrome, but that won't even work at all on any webpage, so I think I'll just stick it out until I get my new laptop in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the help.
So, Crysis keeps crashing on my system whenever I try to change settings, even basic ones like "Turn On Blood" and "Subtitles." Any ideas? I'm on Windows 7, 64-bit.
Has anyone encountered an internet connection stability issue with Windows 7? Not a network connection problem, the network connection is completely stable, but the internet drops out regularly on my wife's computer, and I never have any connection problems on my macbook, nor on any of our gaming systems.
I've got what I strongly suspect of being a dead hard drive but I want to be absolutely sure before I charge for a hard drive replacement and Windows reinstall.
In short: Is there anything, other than a corrupted hard drive, that causes the system to lock up with the hard drive light on permanently part way through just loading programs as normal?
Doesn't seem to effect things in safe mode, meaning the corrupt sectors are probably in some service or commonly used program. Can sometimes go for quite a while without locking up but leaving it on long enough eventually triggers the lockup.
When I'm typing something, my cursor will randomly jump to a different point in the text.
If you are using a laptop as was asked, it's probalby the side of your thumb inadvertantly hitting the touchpad when you are hitting space bar. I have this issue when I'm on unfamiliar laptops sometimes.

That happens to me all the time on my netbook. If that is you issue, then I would look and see if you have a button to turn off the touchpad while you are typing.
