Hey, I was really into online roleplaying back in high school.  I also played Elsendar, a moon elven wizard who studied humans while living amongst them. ^_~
If you know where to look, you can probably find transcripts of some of the RPs, or maybe even the countless usenet posts.

Hey, I was really into online roleplaying back in high school.

You know, I was really into roleplaying way back in high school as well. But that meant I spent a lot of time sitting around a table in the back of a comic shop for entire weekends, eating Mexican food and pizza at odd hours, and drinking lots of highly carbonated and caffeinated beverages, taking breaks only when the GM wanted to smoke, and to run take a piss, or catch some 4th generation copies of fansubs(usually Silent Moebus, Gundam:*insert inane title here*, or some such. I got lucky once and was able to sit through some 2nd gen copies of Guyver). It didn't mean I had to type a bunch of rather gay shit on the internet. I don't mean gay as in the topic of the post, but gay as in the way that jocks, and an openly lesbian friend of mine, say it when they are referring to something being lame.

And I don't know Hebrew, so I'll refer to him as Superjew. He has a menorah on his chest, but Superjew doesn't wear a yamika? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?!?

  • As much as I would like to, (and as much as I tried to,) I really can't make fun of you, Rym. I was really into it when I was younger, too. I used to RP with people I met on Neopets in middle school. I've still got all my character's pictures, descriptions, and origins saved on my old hard drive. And I'm pretty glad I did it, because I still am in contact with all the friends I made from it. It also taught me how to write better than school ever did. Imitating and learning from people's writing styles online was probably one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
  • I just read this whole thread for the very first time. This has to be one of the best threads ever.
  • I used to RP with people I met on Neopets in middle school.
Wow, way to make a guy feel old. I was WELL out of high school before Neopets came out...

Lol. Neopets was very much the Usenet of my generation.
  • 3 points for Scott. :)

Scott: "So you have to base your filtering on other factors, and-"

Rym: "-and those factors don't matter because you could have a site that was like, happyfurrykittens.com and it's just hardcore pornography."

Scott: "You could also have a site, hard core fucking Rym in the ass something something dildo something... and it's just a site of happy LOLCats."

Rym: "...huh. I find it interesting that your example... well, my example involved puppies and kittens and pornography, and yours involved, uh, sex with me and dildos."

Scott: "Eh, what do you want?"

    Rym: "Not that."

    Scott: "Alright, fine.. uhh, RymRidingTheSexMachine.com"

My laughing just disturbed the entire class because of this! HA!
  • Did I make you get called upon?

Awesome! Now I know that somewhere, I have interrupted a class, my life's mission is almost over. *Takes a striking pose.*

  • In the Geeknights sign, what is the figure doing with his left hand?
  • I like that logo.
  • Is that from Scott Pilgrim?
  • Ha! Proof! Yet, it's so cute. NO, I mustn't get sucked into the idea! It's such a cute drawing though. <3 Sooooo cute.

    SIgh. . . I'm a sucker for cute things. It's my weakness.

  • YAY!! Win!!
  • I am also guilty of thinking Scott and Rym was gay. And I'm sorry, when you're tired and you hear "Rymin' Scott" (Actually Rym 'n Scott), you tend to laugh your ass off, and then..start to wonder. Especially considering I have little to no experience of what it's like to be living with a roommate for a long time... And my personal auto mindset does not help.
I'm glad you guys just laugh this stuff off, tho. I know of far too many online peeps who get really mad when told that. XDD
(This is a great first post ...*death*)
  • That pic was awesome. That term "Rymin' Scott" sounds like a 70's porno name.

This thread has officially corrupted my mind. . . even more.
  • Took long enough.

    Why not use a wii-mote? ;)

(Viga's face is in a shocked state)

You win this round The Wired. *leaves*
  • OH MY GOD.

... Apparantly, a girl got really pissed off when Apple wouldn't replace/repair her iPod because she put it up her vagina. At the time, there was nothing stating anything about putting the iPod in such places - now there is. XDDD
  • I find it ironic that the school computers can block disneyworld.com and yet not block this forum.
  • You serious? They block disneyworld? o.O; *has never tried* Huh. I wonder if I can do that at my school... >=3

(Viga's face is in shocked state again!)

A reason why disney is blocked probably because a lot of people went to it. I remember when Neopets was popular in school they blocked it because of that.
