  • Afterwards, he says, "It will be a legislative Schrodinger's cat, killed by the quantum mechanics of the legislative process."
  • The point of Schrodinger's Cat is that the cat ends up dead. However, there is no way to know if the cat was alive until the moment you opened the box or dead long before. I didn't watch the video so I don't know the point of this argument.
  • Seems like he's just name-dropping. Technically it's radioactive decay that kills the cat.

More importantly, you can't determine whether or not the cat is alive or dead. It's in superposition until you collapse the wave function.

  • Alternatively, it's both alive and dead.
  • All the same, It was rather clever.

The important part is that it is likely every republican had no fucking clue what he just said.
It is also likely that the words 'mumbo jumbo' were used by republicans to describe what he said.

HAHA, the fool. The GOP voter base is far too ruggedly independent and have way too many family values to fall for such a reality based argument.

  • How to be a Tea Party leader:
    1) Say something about lowering taxes (regardless of the current bugetary and/or economic climates)
    2) Talk about Jesus in all your speeches.
    3) ????
    4) PROFIT!!
  • We all know O'Keefe is a lying sack of shit, but he's so bad, even a website started by Glenn Beck points out how bad it is. When a Fox News outlet points out that you're heavily editing and lying in your little 'citizen journalism' smear campaigns, you know you have a problem.

the last few years of domestic American politics, starting with the banks imploding, just furthers my belief that the Shock Doctrine is finally coming home.

  • Minn. republicans want to make it illegal for poor people to have cash.
    What?
I really, really, really want to make those asshole representatives try living without their wealth for a little while. Then maybe punch each of them in the neck.

Faux News reports Libya using CNN reporters as human shields to thwart air strikes on Quadaffi. They forget to mention, however, that one of their reporters went along, the tour was given after the air strikes, Quadaffi was nowhere near the bomb site, and that the Libyans had no way of knowing when or where the air strikes were going to hit since their anti-air and early warning systems have already been vaporized by a bajillion tomahawk missiles.
But, you know, why bother with minor details, amirite?

  • Fox News exists to push the Tea Party / Republican / Real American narrative. Reality, with its liberal bias, has no place.
  • South Dakota recently passed a bill into law (PDF) that requires any pregnant woman seeking an abortion to not only have a 3-day waiting period between consulting a physician and the abortion being performed, but go to some pseudo-Planned Parenthood with an ideological prerequisite (stated in the law itself) to be staunch abortion opponents and get lectured about it. The centers are in a registry and the physician must give the registry information to the woman.

It also requires physicians can not perform the abortion unless the woman seeking the abortion gets a letter confirming that she went to such a "consultation", and all the centers can simply refuse to give the woman that letter. Thus, if all of the centers on the registry conspire, they can simply block any and all abortions in the state of South Dakota.
  • While listening to NPR the other day, a rep for the Republican convention in Iowa stated that they know what is best for America:
"Families that consist of two parents with morals set in faith are what this country is made of, and the best way to raise children."
Fuck you, sir. Fuck you with a red hot poker right in all of your face holes.
  • Man, these people make me so angry. Yeah, fire the teachers and give me more money. Not fair at all.
  • You know how you live high on the hog with a $175K salary? You don't have 6 kids. :P
  • Yeah, once I saw that, I was like, "family planning is your friend."
  • Yeah, once I saw that, I was like, "family planning is your friend."
If God wanted us to plan our families, he wouldn't have made us so horny. QED, God exists and wants us to go forth and populate the Earth.

If you see a woman without a child inside her, you must do your duty to God.

If God didn't want us to have birth control, he wouldn't have allowed it to work so well and let us invent scientific ways to satisfy our horniness without forming babby.
