Leon was one of the first ones I tried. Got it first time. (On the other hand, though, if 4Chan has been hitting this thing, Mathilda should be pretty obvious.)
Yeah, it can now get Rym within 20 questions. One thing to note is that 20 questions in this style is more than 20 bits of information, because each question has 5 answers rather than 2. Ambiguity between options does reduce this, though. In terms of its ability to distinguish between entities, I'd say something more like 3^20 = 3 486 784 401 is a good estimate. In other words, Akinator is, from an information-theoretic perspective, powerful enough to distinguish between half the people currently alive on the Earth. With 40 questions, you get 3^40 = 1.21576655 × 10^19, which is rather large ^_~
I had trouble with Venom, but I haven't really read a comic with it so I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. One recommendation - look at the "Details" for your character at the end. It will show your responses vs expected responses.
I tried him to guess Bobby Clarke. After he had enough information to know that I was thinking of a former ice hockey player who was a coach once I knew exactly that his guess was going to be Wayne Gretzky, and so he guessed, and so he was wrong. After he guessed Bobby Orr and Steve Yzerman he was stumped.

I was impressed that it got Mathilda (Léon - The Professional), and Jake Blues (The Blues Brothers) first shot, too.
[Edit] I also said Rym comes from the internet.
edit: Wow, it got Hypatia of Alexandria in 22 questions. It guessed Sappho first, but it got it on the extension.

Edit: It guessed the smoke monster from Lost, the Shrike, and Shai'tan from Wheel of Time. Those seem pretty good.
