  • Plain Sight is super fun, but servers are relatively empty except at peak times of day
How empty? Like, nobody at all? Or is there generally at least one game you can get in on? Is there a single player mode/bots?
  • edited July 2010
There's usually one full server, then a half full server, and then a ton of completely empty servers. There is a practice mode with bots.

It's a really insane game, and the kind of thing that would be a blast at a LAN party. Too bad practically no one bought it.

  • Fuck it, I'll buy Guild II: Pirates. Although, if it has all the content of the first AND the expanded material, I don't know why they'd do a pack the way they did. Dumb.
  • From what Thane says, it seems you loose the inland skirmish maps and that's about it.

Whelp, I just wasted $3.75. Could've bought a glass of sweet tea with that kind of money.

The King Hobo comics are somewhat autobiographical, aren't they?

I'm not entirely sure about that point. I've never had the base game installed without the addon or vice versa. You may get the inland maps with Pirates, but it's a moot point, because the best map in the game is the giganto Hansa map in Pirates - the others look like crap by comparison.

Well, I bought the pack -- played a bit of practice mode on Plain Sight -- looks pretty cool, if people actually play it. Right now, I'm playing Crayon Physics with the Cintiq, and it's SWEEEEEET.
  • I'm just putting this out there, if there is a Borderlands sale of 50% off I will probably buy it and will be willing to arrange some sort of multi-player run through of the game.

Random bits of my life pop up in all of my creative output, whether I like it or not. :P

Depending on the price, we might see some team Scott.

Please include me in that if you do, Cremlian. I bought it a while ago and felt like I got completely burned on the purchase because I didn't have anyone to play it with from the beginning. The grinding got me to stop playing almost immediately.

Meh, foiled again by my geographical location.

Yea, I saw people complain about that, but everytime I look at the game and see the words "4 player co-op" and shooter/RPG. I think this will be fun with other people. (and I've loved the crap out of recent RPG shooters (Fallout 3 and Mass Effect))

Yeah, but from what I hear you actually have to aim in this one.

Yeah, but from what I hear you actually have to aim in this one.
You have to aim in Mass effect 2 (and in one you aim within a zone) as well and you CAN play Fallout 3 without ever using the attack a particular part of the body.

You do. There is actual FPSing. The kind where you actually have to aim carefully and where you aim matters. It's just not fun at all on your own, imo. The game does have a lot of good humor and visuals, though. I really want to play it because so many other people enjoyed it, but there's no way I can get through it on my own.

Yes, but even if you play Fallout 3 entirely in fps mode, your actual aim doesn't matter. Your aiming skill in-game is what matters. I don't mind if the RPG elements are along the lines of System/Bioshock where they give your more damage, speed, abilities, etc. Even Super Metroid has that. As long as the bullets go where I point the mouse, it's all good.

Darn no Borderlands yet, but still some interesting games today, (however I have MOST of them already)

I'm interested in Tropico 3 and the Misadventures game. (and DA: awakening I feel is still too much money :-()

(I already have X3, Titan Quest, Bioshock, thief and GTA:SA

  • What do people know about Titan Quest? It doesn't look like it's a very good game, but it looks like it has pretty high production values considering the price.

It's a your standard Torchlight game with a bit more story then Torchlight from what I've gathered, I've only played a bit of it.

Well, I played Torchlight, so that's my fix of that for a long time to come.

Oh the big difference is the dungeons and world are not randomly generated.
  • Nothing of serious note today, maybe a good thing in light of yesterday.

I'm going through the somewhat tedious G2PE tutorial. Beginning to see how this is going to kick some serious balls once I can play it well and online.

Mass Effect 2 and Just Cause 2 (and maybe 1I dunno) have this set up.

If you've played Tropico then it's a good 3D update, if you have never played Tropico then the best way I could quickly describe it is SimCuba. It's a fun time waster and great way to exercise your inner cold blooded dictator.
  • Is Bioshock worth five bucks?
  • Is Bioshock worth five bucks?
If you've already played System Shock 2, and you want more of that, but not quite as good, then yeah. Just make sure your computer is strong enough to run it smoothly.
  • Is Bioshock worth five bucks?
It's pretty. That's about it. Explore the scenery, but don't expect much of a game.
  • Titan Quest = Diablo2 done with Greek Myths. It has a bit of a Ray Harryhausen/Clash of the Titans feel to it when you're battling the monsters, but that gets old pretty quick. The "pick your own class and subclass" as the story progresses is a neat twist, but not really enough to warranty multiple replays. If you've already played Diablo2 to death and you already own Torchlight, skip TQ and its sequel.
