So I hear a lot about this Metro 2033 game. What's the deal?
I will share an anecdote. One time I was browsing the Gamestop shelves for some of the Katamari games, when this man with a neckbeard walks in and pulls a copy of Metro 2033 out of his bag. He said, "I bought this yesterday, I'd like to return it."
The hot girl behind the counter goes, "Ok, what's wrong with it?"
Neckbeard responds, "Well, if I wanted to pay $60 to run around subways in a post-apocalypse, shooting zombies mutants with a variety of weapons from different eras, I would have bought another copy of Fallout 3." And that's why I've never bought Metro 2033. I've also heard it is WAY linear.

Game by a Ukrainian developer, based on the Russian book of the same name. Post-apocalyptic setting, survivors versus mutants in the underground tunnels that now make up the majority of the world. Has received mixed reviews, with the majority of them saying the game is mediocre at best. I think I'm more inclined to try and find the translated version of the book than play the game.

Most non-linear games are much more poorly designed than the majority of linear games, though.
From what I've heard, Metro 2033 is primarily a techdemo for DirectX 11.
Today they have put all the big hits back on sale. I still missed HL2 though Today I'm looking at purchasing Civ IV, Trine, WoG, and only 33% off HL2 and HL2 ep1-2
Picking up civ4, mars asshole, and the Introversion pack. It makes me sad on the inside to spend money, but these ought to be worth it. I would've also picked up the borderlands pack but I feel bad owning two copies of the game, my other one being retail, and I think non-steam compatible.
Exercising tremendous self-control and not getting Tales of Monkey Island, Borderlands, or Men of War (I have Company of Heroes to deal with). Rounding it all out with Introversion and Machinarium.
I bought Civ IV and when I choose what I want to install it lists Civ IV and it's expansions twice each. Is there any reason for this or do I just uncheck the duplicates?

One is the Mac version and the other is the Windows one.
Ok, Thanks. I noticed that when I unchecked the boxes the download size didn't decrease so I unchecked them.
Yeah. One of them, when you click on them in your library, will say something to the effect of "This game is not supported on your platform," while the other will install.
I think I managed to winkle out some of the rougher diamonds in the sale:
Thief: Deadly Shadows Tales of Monkey Island series 1 Trials 2 Second Edition Ghost Master Time Gentlemen Please and Ben There, Dan That Grand Ages Rome Gold Port Royale 2

EDIT: Hmmm...I want Sam & Max, but I still haven't beaten the original SCUMMy goodness. I'll wait.

Ahh, just think. There was a time when I said I would wonder if I would ever need more than 1MB/s internet.

edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. Had to rename the ClientRegistry.blob so it could be rebuilt. Solved my login issues after that.
