Damn. I was hoping to have something to lord over all you damned Americans. Anyways, it's definitely a good idea to try to get that shit happening at PAX.
This of course was the best PAX I've been to yet but Saturday was were it was at more so that the other days. Playing the Freemarket game Scott ran was pretty baller. Also getting wrecked at Wasabi with Neito and Viga was really fun.
- A lot of people recommended Kingsburg, so I picked that up on the cheap as I was walking out on Sunday. It was either that or Ascension (the other game everyone loved) but I think I have enough deck building for now.
Ascension is great because the set up and tear town are a lot faster than Dominion, but I think you made the right choice in picking up Kingsburg instead.
You may want to look into getting the expansion for it. It brings a few more different elements into game play which I think makes it more enjoyable.
Jeremy and I taught Rym & Scott how to play. The first game with Scott, that Rym didn't play, was hilarious because as Scott easily understood how the game played as we went over it while Lyddi got lost at times and was confused on how the game went. It's totally understandable because it happens to me. It was high quality and PRO that Scott totally lost while Lyddi won the game especially when Scott always preaches "Play to win the game!"
The other game with played with Rym, Scott, and Alex, Rym easily handed our asses to us. I blame the class card he had. Total hax.
I really need to check out Spot It. It looked like a lot of fun watching you guys play.
Also, much props to Pete for leading a game of Danger Patrol. I was SO nervous playing because I was so tired and I thought my imagination was so shot to hell. I had a lot of fun playing.
The card was definitely hax. I took one look at it, saw the shortest path to victory, and went for it. It effectively almost doubled my chances of rolling up a queen. Coupled with hitting the "modify rolls" track heavily with the market and the inn, I was unstoppable. I was able to take the queen like six times.
Of course, I also punked everyone with my poker face. You guys should know by now to never listen to a god damned word I ever say in any game under any circumstances. ;^)

Unless Rym shakes on it he is lying. (and even then he is making the deal because it's better for him)
ScoJo, even though I wasn't in that game of Dixit, the card you played for "Good place for a kick" is something I will ALWAYS think of when I see that card.
Also, Andrew, you will never win a game of Dominion. I curse you. I did "let" you get your Mint Platinum action off before I easily won that last game.
I'm sad we couldn't get that game of Tetris going.

heh... I'm pretty sure my inherit klassiness will be my undoing.
Ro, my revenge as the keeper of arcane lore will be slow and painful. I hope you enjoy your insanity.
I never went insane, but that was a fun game. I'm sure you will get tons of game play out of it, but when you get tired of it definitely check out Betrayal at the House on the Hill.
Too bad we couldn't finish the game with Pete & Nuri.
Here is a pic I took of our game:
Also surprisingly enough I ended up not spending as much as I thought I would at PAX. I think this is mostly due to the fact that I got most of my breakfast meals/snacks from Enforcerland and my caffeine fix from the free Bawls. Also bringing my water bottle easily saved me a lot of money from buying drinks. I also didn't buy any merch. I pretty much spent most of my money on dining and alcohol which was totally worth it.
Ro, what scenario did your group play in Mansions of Madness? My group played the first one and the map was only half the size. Must be a watered-down intro scenario I suppose? We sort of assumed that since only two monsters spawned during the entire game, but I don't see any out on your board either. Did you guys find it to be really light on combat? I definitely liked the game but I'm just not sure where I rank it yet.
I also agree that Betrayal at House on the Hill is worth checking out, although both it and Mansions of Madness are prone to major quality issues. MoM has two full pages of corrections now on the FFG website, and Betrayal has some wicked tile warping.
The game we played is where a bunch of girls from a school disappeared and we had to investigate. We only had two monsters spawn: witches and some beast of some sort.
We thought we had to do all this extra puzzle solving to get rid of the beast, but Andrew totally pulled out this hax shit of the beast going through the vent which totally bypassed us to kill him, to get out the mansion, which was his objective.

How did the tommy gun fare?
The guy who took your place really didn't have an opportunity to use it. Also the shotgun turned out to be better because it can shoot through doors.
I also totally forgot to use my ability of being able to get free switch out of tiles during my puzzle.

~$180 total for my share of the hotel room.
~$60 total on food/alcohol for the weekend.
Overall, a damn cheap weekend. ^_^
