All the CoD games had like a major issues dealing with NAT so much so that it informed you on the main page of how open your NAT was. That was the one that I can remember very clearly having issues with. I've never had issue with any PC game.
Thing is, turning off NAT is not the answer for even those fucky situations. Port forwarding or putting the console in the DMZ are the two answers.
Well yeah this bit I agree with, just not the bit you never have to configure anything for gaming clients.
Well, I never have to. Even Borderlands "just worked" without doing anything.
I think with Borderlands and the Wii my issue was somehow related to the cable ISP's bullshit at the time. Either the cable modem had some weirdness, or a combination of the cheap router and the cable modem, or something.
It's been a while, and I haven't had to do anything but forward ports since then. I think Borderlands 2 required me to forward some ports for hosting...
About the only way NAT can affect gaming unless you're running the server is if you're running a really old/crappy router whose internal NAT tables are too small to handle the load of traffic generated by the game. In that case, just get a new router.

Even with an old crappy router, I have never seen a NAT table fill.

I have only heard anecdotal evidence of this at best. I've never personally experienced this.
You often don;t even need to go manually forward a port if your comfortable with UPnP doing it's thing (which there are several reasons NOT to be comfortable with that, for the record).

Not necessarily. Even if you ignore the security problems of UPnP, it doesn't always work. The standard is not exactly the greatest. Lots of software that attempts to use UPnP fails. A program that might work perfectly with one router, might fail completely with another that doesn't follow the standard perfectly. It is quite unreliable.
Anyone good with or know anyone who can make suits of armor?
What sort of armour?
Replica Space Marine armor.
Wasn't there an armorer that used to make Master Chief suits? I don't remember their name, but I know they did custom orders. You're looking at upwards of $2000, though.
Nightmare? Nah, they do their own designs mostly, and their replicas are only sold to the licensing companies. They got their start making HALO armor for Bungie, but they only made 53 suits and never sold to the general public. They are still around, though all the original members have left, because Sid Garrand is apparently a bit of a knob.
Yeah well. Know any studios then that take commissions?
Yep. The hard part is finding one that will build you some HALO Armor without a license - which none of the ones I know will do, because it's a good way to get sued into the ground.

I don't want Halo armor I want Space Marine armor. Which is still problematic without a license as I think Games Workshop is even worse about infringement.

Oh yeah, sorry. I got confused by Yosho mentioning master chief, I should have paid more attention. Still, same gig - unless you mean "Space Marine" in the generic sense, you're shit outta luck. You'd have better chances building it yourself. Suprisingly, Sphess Maureen armor is some of the easier armor to build - lots of big, flat, gently rounded plates and not much detail, or hard angles. You can pretty much make it out of paper mache and have it look good.
Even cardstock. You have to have something reasonably firm - corrugated cardboard makes a really good base, actually. You make the basics with that, stiffen it with shellac, then use lacquered or shellac'ed cardstock to make a smooth surface for paint. It's a little heavier, but it looks really fucking good, and despite being heavier, it's still pretty fuckin' light.
Was "Johnson" a euphemism for dick before Lydon Baynes? Seems like the sort of thing he would've caused.
Long before. Johnson has meant penis since at least 1863.
1863 W. B. Cheadle Jrnl. in Jrnl. Trip across Canada (1931) 108 Neck frozen. Face ditto; tights ditto; Johnson ditto, & sphincter vesicae partially paralyzed.
EDIT: My word...they've got a historical thesaurus with euphemisms for the penis going back to 1000ad.
For armor I'd recommend using a combination of craft foam and wonderflex. It's incredibly light and easy to work with (if you have a heat gun or hair drier) and the foam is dirt cheap. Wonderflex is kinda medium in price range, about $50 for a large roll, which is like 4-5 sq ft I think. Worbla, a similar material, is getting popular. Use a thick filler primer and then you can go to town on the paint job. Seriously, there are a TON of tutorials online. One guy made realistic Mass Effect armor out of rubber mats.
If you have limited resources, tools, and moneys, this is the way to go I made a pretty good armor set out of just craft foam last year (had to seal really well before painting, which took awhile, but was cheap and easy). I would highly suggest buying a $5 pack of foam and just trying it out.

It's one hell of a project but the results are spectacular.
